Larson Electronics manufactures the
Magnalight 12 volt spotlights with magnetic base and 12 volt searchlights with magnetic base with magnetic bases and 16 foot cords in Dallas, TX. These
industrial grade 12 volt spotlights
have been a staple of the cable, telephone and electric utility industry since
1967. Magnalight has since its beginnings expanded this to include the military/law enforcement

The Magnalight HAL-LEDTH-150W-LED Trailer Hitch Mounted Light Tower is Class-1 Division 2 approved and comes complete with a IP68 rated 150 watt LED light head producing a 14,790 lumen flood of light capable of illuminating an area 540’ in length by 480’ feet in width.
This trailer hitch mounted explosion proof light can be used with 12 or 24 VDC voltages depending upon chosen configuration and is ideal for use as work area illumination, event lighting, emergency operations lighting, or equipment lighting and is suitable for use on any vehicle that will accept a hitch mount. This light tower is extendable from 3’ to 8’ in height and incorporates a trailer hitch mounting system that allows operators to easily secure the fixture to receiver hitch equipped vehicles at any location.
This mounting system provides extremely secure placement of the tower in areas where high winds are commonly encountered as the weight of the vehicle removes the possibility of the unit swaying excessively or tipping over.

This hazardous location light contains thirty CREE XLamp XPG® five watt LEDs producing 493 lumens each. These LEDs are arranged in rows and paired with high purity optics to produce a 60 degree flood beam while only drawing 12.5 amps on 12V DC, making these units ideal for use as highly efficient yet powerful work and area lights. The HAL-LEDTH-150W-LED hazardous location LED light is an ideal replacement for fragile and hot running 400 watt metal halide floodlights. They offer Pulse Width Modulation control, cooler operation, low power requirements, high durability and a versatile mounting system that makes these LED floodlights superior lighting solution for industrial and commercial applications where power and reliability is critical.
This hazardous area light is U.L. rated Class 1 Division 2, Groups A B, C, D and UL1598 listed for Outdoor Salt Water Marine use. This unit operates with 12-24 VDC and all electronic components are protected within the weatherproof IP 65 rated housing. Wiring is through a convenient wiring box located on the bottom of the heavy duty housing which has a threaded ¾ inch conduit entrance. This lamp is suitable for use in areas where flammable petrochemical vapors are sometimes present. The multi-purpose design of this fixture makes it a popular choice for industrial applications regardless of whether the locations are designated hazardous or not.
Mounting: The trailer hitch mounting system on this unit consists of a trailer hitch bracket which in turn holds the extendable aluminum light tower. The light tower is extendible from 3’ to 8’ and the entire system mounts to standard hitch receivers via the standard push bolt and locking pin used on most commonly used trailer hitch receiver mounts. This tower is light wieght and can be collapsed and easily stowed behind pickup seats or in the back seat of a car, making it a very versatile yet powerful lighting option for those requiring a quickly and easily deployed light source.
Angle Adjustment: This unit allows operators to adjust the angle of the entire unit by positioning the trailer hitch at different angles. Adjusting the angle of the tower is accomplished by loosening a thumb bolt at the base of the hitch, which enables the mount to swivel 180 degrees (given enough ground clearance, a greater swivel angle can be achieved.) Once the desired angle is found, simply retighten the thumb bolt to lock the hitch into place.
Connectors: These units connect the LED light head to the vehicle via a 5 pin trailer connector. There are several connecting cords to choose from with this unit as outlined in the links below which add to this unit’s portability and convenience. These LED work lights are designed to operate with common vehicle and equipment voltages of 12 volts DC or 24 volts DC. Operators must choose their preferred voltages below when ordering.
