The Magnalight LEDLB-80X2E-VIR LED Light Bar offers high light output and extreme durability combined with the ability to produce either visible or infrared light with only one LED light bar. This IP68 rated LED light bar is waterproof to three meters and produces 14,400 total lumens while drawing only 240 watts of power @20 amps from a 12 volt electrical system. This light can run on any voltage from 9 to 42 volts and provides an extremely rugged lighting solution that is ideal for use in commercial security environments as well as law enforecement and military operations.
The LEDLB-80X2E-VIR LED light bar from Magnalight produces a 1650' long by 320' wide light beam with 14,400 lumens of light while drawing only 240 watts @20 amps from a 12 volt electrical system. Two separate power connections are provided, including one that powers the infrared LEDs and one that powers the visible LEDs. Thus, the visible LEDs can be connected to a MRAP or MATV blackout system, enabling the visible light to be turned off when the operator goes into covert mode. 2 rows of 40 LEDs are dedicated to visible lighting, while the other two rows of 40 LEDs are dedicated to infrared lighting. The infrared portion of this LED light can be configured with 850nm or 940nm wavelength IR LEDs. The infrared light produced by this light bar can only be viewed with night vision devices.
We also offer optional floodlight versions with 35 degree optics to produce a wider beam spread and more light over a larger area nearer the fixture. These LED light bars are IP68 rated and waterproof to 3 meters, sealed against intrusion by dust and dirt and very ruggedly constructed to withstand the most demanding environments, conditions and applications. The entire Magnalight LEDLB-E series are constructed of extruded aluminum and feature heavier housings, rubber isolated mounts and unbreakable polycarbonate lenses to provide increased durability against vibrations, impacts, waves, hard rains, sand and high winds.
Heat Management: Heat is the single largest factor in premature LED failure and color shifting. As a result, many manufacturers reduce the output of their LEDs to reduce the amount of heat produced. These LED light bars utilize an extruded aluminum housing that incorporates an advanced heat radiating fin design which dissipates heat efficiently to produce the maximum amount of power and longevity from the integrated Edison Edixeon® Emitters. The end result is more light and longer LED life with higher average lumen maintenance after 50,000 hours.
Voltage Control: These units are able to monitor and adjust input current to maintain the correct LED voltage levels regardless of input levels across a specific range. These LEDLB series light bars can operate on current ranging from 9 to 42VDC without any modifications necessary as a result. This multi-voltage capability makes these units ideal for mobile and standalone applications such as those found on commercial boats, heavy equipment and vehicles where power systems don’t always operate with 12 volts and external generators, transformers or inverters are impractical.

Durability: The LEDLB-E series of LED light bars from Magnalight offer IP68 rated construction that is designed to withstand extremes of environmental and operating conditions. The LED lights with the ‘E’ part number designation are designed for extreme durability and are larger and nearly twice as heavy as their standard counterparts. These units can withstand rapid temperature changes of -40 degrees Celsius to 85 degrees Celsius, are waterproof to three meters and resist ingress of dust, dirt and humidity. The housings are formed from thick extruded aluminum and the lenses are unbreakable polycarbonate. The Edixeon® LEDs offer inherent LED resistance to shocks and vibrations contributing to these units 15.6Grms rating of vibration tolerance. We recommend these LED lights for high stress - high vibratory conditions, high humidity climates, very cold areas and rough saltwater conditions. They are also well suited to environments where equipment is used in one temperature extreme and stored in another temperature extreme.
Mounting: Magnalight LEDLB series light bars are equipped standard with aluminum mounting blocks which slide within the aluminum housing to allow users to adjust their positioning to match existing or user drilled mounting holes. Each aluminum mounting block has an integrated rubber bushing to absorb vibrations and shocks. To secure the lights in place users simply slide the mounting bolts through the aluminum mounting block and rubber isolator, through the mounting surface, then secure the bolt with a locking nut on the opposite side of the mounting surface. This mounting system enables mounting to flat or round surfaces and allows for minimal 7 degrees of flexibility of angle placement of the light. In this LED emitter light bar model, an additional mounting option is provided. The adjustable, shock insulated mounts are attached to a simple, inverted u-bracket type mount. The LED light bar can then be mounted via a single 3/8 bolt through the center of the bracket. We also offer a BC-2 bar clamp mounting system you can view here for even greater mounting versatility.
Note: Most Magnalight LEDLB, LEDP3W, LEDP10W, and LED10W series LED spotlights and floodlights are terminated with a Deutsch IPD / LADD DT04-2P connector. The mating connector plug is DT06-2S. Most LEDLB and LED10W series lights ship with mating connector as part of a harness or pigtail, depending on the model. Some larger LED lights like the LEDLB-160X2 or LEDLB-200X2 or multiple function LED lights (i.e. high/low beam, modulating, IR/Visible combos) will have different Deutsch connectors.

What makes light in specific regions of the infrared end of the spectrum useful is that while it is absorbed or reflected off of objects just like visible light, it is a single narrow band of electromagnetic radiation rather than a blend of several. Normal visible light is a blend of several shorter electromagnetic wavelengths (colors) that is easily reflected by objects. Each wavelength, or color, is absorbed and reflected a little differently than the next according to the physical properties [...]
Todays night vision technology is several orders advanced beyond the early systems and capable of producing images of surprising detail and clarity even in almost lightless conditions. The most advanced systems are reserved for military , law enforcement and Federal use only and make up what is known as Generation 4 night vision technology. Obviously, earlier systems are then known as Generation 3, 2 and of course 1. Generation three systems make up the majority of equipment available to the pu [...]
While LEDs certainly hold a great deal of potential and promise for medical application, unless there is peer reviewed evidence for support, it is highly doubtful that such unproven therapies are of much benefit. It is probably wisest to not allow the excitement and newness of LED technology to color judgment when it comes to such serious medical conditions and instead defer to established medical practices for effective treatments. Light towers are a popular choice for the nighttime jobsite because of their ability to illuminate large areas with a great deal of high quality light. These light towers are generally an array of two to four metal halide lights mounted on telescoping poles and powered by a dedicated diesel generator. They can typically illuminate an area of approximately two acres and provide a great solution for contractors who need powerful illumination for large scale projects. [...]
When most of us think of night vision devices we usually picture the elaborate electronic headgear or special cameras used by military personnel. We usually assume the technology is complicated and the price exorbitant and so we also assume that attractive as being able to see in the dark may be, its beyond the realm of us mere mortals. [...]
Since its development over 50 years ago night vision technology has grown to include a wide range of devices that in some manner or another create the ability to see in what for all practical intents is near or total darkness. [...]
Although there is more than one way to see in the dark, there is without a doubt a great deal of qualification regarding the merits of each method when they are compared with each other. [...]
Growing in popularity due to increasing concerns with terrorism and criminal activities, active infrared technology has increased by leaps and bounds and led to an explosion in the low light security monitoring industry. [...]
When dealing with night vision style technology like security cameras or portable night vision scopes, it is all too possible to find yourself disappointed. [...]
Hunting at night is no easy task. Regulations and ordinances can sometimes be heavily set against anyone wishing to hunt at night. Spotlights and night vision devices although gaining some leeway as far as nuisance and non game animals are concerned are still heavily prohibited for use when hunting many of the more popular game animals.
