The Magnalight EPLC-48-4L-LED Explosion Proof LED Light Cart is U.S./Canada U.L. approved Class 1 Division 1, Class II Division 1 and offers exceptional LED lamp durability, efficiency, 50,000 hour lamp life, and versatile explosion proof protection for operators working in hazardous locations.
The EPLC-48-4L-LED explosion proof light cart is UL listed Class 1 Division 1 and Class II Division 1&2 and offers the ability to quickly and easily add light wherever it is needed. This unit incorporates the highly effective Magnalight EPL-48-4L-LED explosion proof fixture equipped with four 24 Watt LED T-series tube lights into a mobile platform. The platform is constructed of corrosion resistant aluminum alloy, has non sparking casters, and includes a Class I Div I Explosion Proof Switch with 200 foot of SOOW electric cable as well. This T6 temperature rated explosion proof LED light cart offers superior LED benefits in the form of reduced operating and maintenance costs, extreme lamp life and high resistance to impacts and vibration.
This unit is an excellent lighting solution for operators who need full power illumination in areas where traditional fixed mount lighting is obstructed or cannot effectively reach.
There is no ballast in this unit and the included LED T-series lamps have a 50,000+ hour service life, both of which result in extreme efficiency, cooler operation and greatly reduced maintenance costs. The solid state design of the LED lamps give this fixture superior resistance to damage from vibrations and extremes in temperature as well as a lamp service life over twice that of standard T5-HO bulbs. The lamps are protected by heat and impact resistant Pyrex tubes which provide added security against impacts and overspray. The light fixture is constructed of copper free aluminum alloy and the entire unit ships with a 200' SOOW cord and explosion proof plug. The lamp reflectors are corrosion resistant heavy gauge aluminum and coated with a high gloss 93% reflective finish. The cart allows the entire fixture to be adjusted through 270 degrees of rotation to position the lights as needed.
These LED-T series 24 watt LED lamps produce more illumination per watt than standard 54 watt T5-HO bulbs, but draw only 1/3rd of current. A standard EPL-48-2L-T5HO explosion proof fluorescent light, with a combined total of 108 watts, draws 1 amp @120 volts. The LED version of the same light, with a total of 48 watts, draws only .4 amp. The EPLC-48-4L-LED is multi-voltage (not multi-tap) and works on the following voltages: 120 Volt 60 HZ, 220 Volt 50 HZ, 240 Volt 60 HZ, 277 Volts 60 HZ. The unit is also offered in low voltage to accommodate those who need voltage on 12 and 24 volts dc. An explosion proof switch comes standard with the EPLC-48-4L-LED, allowing for simple turning on/off while in a hazardous area.
Suggested Applications: PAINT SPRAY BOOTHS, Aircraft maintenance, Oil drilling rigs, Refineries, Solvent and cleaning areas, Gas processing plants, Chemical manufacturing, Waste treatment plants, Gas processing plants.

Superior LED Benefits
1. Each unit dialectically tested. 2. Fixture arrives assembled and lamped to reduce installation time and cost. Adjustable mounting brackets allow the light fixture to be rotated while on the cart through a wide degree of positions for optimal light placement. 3. Fixture constructed of extruded corrosion resistant copper free aluminum alloy. 4. No ballast box. No ballast to replace. We simply run the black wire to one end of the bulb and white wire to the other. 5. Heavy gauge extruded aluminum reflectors with high gloss reflective finish. Resists dents and corrosion. 6. A wrench is used to unscrew the end caps for relamping the fixture, while other models require the “tap and knock off” method to loosen the end cap. 7. Explosion proof, impact and heat resistant Pyrex tubes provide lamp protection. 8. Spring loaded sockets on both ends hold lamps firmly for maximum shock and vibration protection.
1. Extreme long life. 2. High efficiency and low amp draw. 3. High durability and reliability. 4. Small size and light weight. 5. 100% recyclable. 6. No toxins-lead, mercury. 7. High light output.. 8. Consistent color over time. 9. High Versatility. 10. No fragile glass used in construction. 12. Vibration/impact resistant.

A poorly lit paint booth with weak ventilation will lead to poorly matched colors and lots of finishing work to deal with paint contaminants. So, it’s best to be realistic and have a few solid ideas of what you are looking for in a paint spray booth in order to ensure that your new booth is all asset and no liability. [...]
Of huge importance to paint spray booth applications is the safety regulation compliance of the lighting equipment and its suitability for use in a hazardous environment. Due to the flammable nature of the chemicals and compounds used within the booth, removing potential sources of ignition is critical. Since any electrical equipment used is a potential source of heat, sparks or flame, it must be properly designed and certified for use in hazardous locations. Paint spry booth lighting that is mo [...]
As of this writing, OSHA has yet to institute a solid set of standards for combustible dusts. Many officials adopt NFPA recommendations into their local fire codes as a result in order to attempt some level of regulatory standards across a broad spectrum. Whether or not any meaningful regulation emerges from OSHA in the near future, it is best that any industry or commercial operation associated with combustible dusts be preemptive and adhere to any local regulations as well as adopt their own m [...]
Confined space lighting must also provide the widest possible coverage of the workspace and be bright enough and of high enough quality to allow trouble free visual determinations. Colors need to be rendered correctly and light levels must be high enough to allow normal activity without the need for compensation through slowed operations and overly repetitive verifications. Other considerations for confided space lighting include keeping heat production to a minimum, hands free operation, durabi [...]
LEDs retain several distinct advantages over fluorescent lamps. LEDs do not require any ballast for their operation. Using entirely solid state electronics, the current and output of LEDs can be easily regulated and maintained. There is no initial startup or warm up period normally associated with ballast equipped luminaries. [...]
When most of us think of night vision devices we usually picture the elaborate electronic headgear or special cameras used by military personnel. We usually assume the technology is complicated and the price exorbitant and so we also assume that attractive as being able to see in the dark may be, its beyond the realm of us mere mortals. [...]
Hazardous location lighting equipment is in the simplest explanation used in places where concentrations of volatile gases, flammable dust or particulates, or flammable chemicals are high enough to present a danger of ignition that can lead to explosion or fire. [...]
Most paint spray booths utilize one of two types of lighting fixtures in their design, either fluorescent tubes, or high intensity discharge lamps. Incandescent lamps are poor choices for spray booth applications because they are highly inefficient, have very short life-spans, and produce copious amounts of heat during their operation. [...]
Confined spaces represent some of the most dangerous work places in commercial industries. Because of their enclosed nature confined spaces are poorly ventilated and allow volatile gases, fumes, vapors, and particulates to accumulate and increase in atmospheric density to potentially explosive levels. Confined spaces represent a hazardous work area and are loosely defined by a few general characteristics. [...]
