Part # SPLED-5 Price: $456.37 Spec Sheet

The Magnalight SPLED-5 Solar Powered LED Light is an ideal lighting solution for remote areas and standalone applications where connection to external power is either impractical or unavailable.
This fully automatic LED light is powered by a 6,000mA capacity 14.8 volt LiPoly battery that is recharged by a 12 watt solar panel. There are two operating modes, high and low, with operation controlled by a motion sensor. This sensor switches the light to low output mode when there is no movement detected and high output mode when movement is detected. Light output comes from a 5 watt LED lamp that produces 120 lumens in low mode and 500 lumens in high mode. The light is automatically switched on when ambient light levels drop below 30 lux, typically at sunset.
The light runs for 9 hours in low mode and 5 hours in high mode when the battery is fully charged. The lithium ion battery pack is contained within the solar panel, not the light. Charging time for the LiPoly battery is 5 hours when exposed to direct sunlight. As with all solar powered equipment, charging time is affected by the amount of available ambient light. When ambient light levels drop below a certain level, such as on cloudy days, the unit will not recharge. The light produced by the SPELD-5 will cover an area 35’L x 35’W when mounted 12 feet from the ground. Mounting options include the ability to attach the fixture to flat surfaces such as walls or round/square pole mounting such as on flagpoles or structure supports. |

|
Magnalight has further upgraded the options available with this light. A two foot extension cord connects the solar panel to the LED light, allowing the light to be mounted separately from the panel. This means the solar panel can be mounted in direct sunlight while the light is mounted in a workspace. The cord between the light and panel ends in deutche connectors, allowing an optional longer extension cord to be attached, increasing the distance the light can be installed from the panel. Optional longer extension cords are available at additional cost. Magnalight can also configure this light for special requirements including different lights and larger batteries.
Suggested uses for this light include both commercial and industrial applications as well as consumer based installations. This light is ideal for boat docks, remote locations that rely on batteries for power, exterior outbuilding lighting, hunting cabins, parking areas, sign or entryway illumination, driveway lighting and anywhere a standalone lighting solution is needed.

The Basics of Ingress Protection Ratings and What They Mean
Some important considerations to keep in mind are that although an item may be rated as ”IP68”, this does not automatically infer the item can be safely operated at any depth for any period of time without failure. For IP68 ratings, manufacturers choose the specified depth which must be beyond 1 meter at which the enclosure will protect against the ingress of water. Normally, as with industrial lighting equipment or marine lighting intended to be operated for extended periods beyond depths of 1 [...] |
