This hazardous area light is U.L. approved Class 1 Division 1, Groups C and D, Class 1 Division 2 Groups A, B, C, D, and Class 2, Division 2, Groups F and G. These lights are also compliant with NEMA 4X standards and marine-rated for use in salt water environments. The high power LED cluster is protected by an internal cooling fin array that reduces heat build for longer LED life and higher light output consistency. An internal DIP switch allows operators to choose from steady on, single flash or double flash modes and the choice of ceiling, pendant or wall mounting options provide versatility when choosing mounting locations. These LED strobe beacons have 3/4" hubs and can be operated with voltages of 12 to 36 VDC without modification.
This strobe light has a T6 termperature rating and and an operating temp range of -55 C to 85 C. The LED output of these beacons is rated at 141 Candela and provides highly effective strobe visibility in combustible atmospheres. In single flash mode this LED beacon produces 80 single flashes per minute and in double flash mode produces 40 double flashes per minute. This Strobing LED beacon is warrented for 5 years against manufacturing defects.

North America is presently not operating with the IECex/ATEX schemes although some effort has been made to produce some homogenity between North American and European Standards, most notably the US and Canada's adoption of a Zone system (NEC 505) modeled after European Schemes. However, despite the great similarity between North American and European Zone systems, they are not identical and are not interchangeable.

With hazardous locations, it is rarely easy or practical to remove either oxygen or fuel. This is because it is impossible to operate an oxygen free environment, and the very compounds that are present are the very part of the industrial process. Thus, removing heat, or rather the source of ignition becomes the primary target for practicing prevention. Indeed, when incidents arise, it is often determined that “inadvertent ignition” had taken place. So, it is then important to identify and unders [...]
According to OSHA, 30,000 U.S. facilities are at risk of fires and explosions caused by the presence of combustible dusts. OSHA also notes that between 1980 and 2005 118 workers were killed and another 718 injured in incidents involving a combustible dust explosion. Aluminum, steel, coal, grain, plastics, resins, flour, wood and a whole list of others both organic and non organic can become extremely flammable when ground, shaved or in some other way processed into fine particulates. Hazardous location lighting equipment is in the simplest explanation used in places where concentrations of volatile gases, flammable dust or particulates, or flammable chemicals are high enough to present a danger of ignition that can lead to explosion or fire. [...]
Confined spaces represent some of the most dangerous work places in commercial industries. Because of their enclosed nature confined spaces are poorly ventilated and allow volatile gases, fumes, vapors, and particulates to accumulate and increase in atmospheric density to potentially explosive levels. Confined spaces represent a hazardous work area and are loosely defined by a few general characteristics. [...]
