Larson Electronics
Larson Electronics manufactures the
Magnalight 12 volt spotlights with magnetic base and 12 volt searchlights with magnetic base with magnetic bases and 16 foot cords in Dallas, TX. These
industrial grade 12 volt spotlights
have been a staple of the cable, telephone and electric utility industry since
1967. Magnalight has since its beginnings expanded this to include the military/law enforcement
industries, federal and local governments, and emergency and first responder industries as well.

HID flood lights with

The EPL-TL-C-F Explosion Proof Portable
Tank Light WITH Manhole Flange Mount Option from Magnalight is rated Class 1
Division 1 Groups C & D and uses a 400 watt metal halide lamp to produce
75,000 lumens of light capable of illuminating 20,000 square feet of work area.
This light is configured to also provide innovative flange mounting, allowing
users to hang the lamp fixture from openings and operate it as overhead
lighting.
The
EPL-TL-C-F explosion proof portable tank light is U.L. approved Class 1,
Division 1 for Groups C and D and provides 20,000 square foot of coverage with a
75,000 lumen light output. This unit consists of a 400 watt metal Halide lamp
mounted on top of an aluminum cart with solid rubber wheels and provides a
portable and easily mobile source of hazardous location illumination. Often
simply referred to as a “tank light”, this unit is considered universal due to
its ability to be passed through any conventional manhole such as those found in
petrochemical containers and ship storage tanks. This unit is available in 18"
and 24" diameter versions and is considered a universal tank light as it can be
easily passed through most conventional manholes and entryways 18” to 24" or
larger in size.
To
provide added versatility to the upper cage light portion of this tank light, we
developed a flange mount option that enables operators to mount the light head
in a suspended position from an overhead man way. In this way, the light is
similar to the functionality of an overhead light in a warehouse, illuminating
the entire tank. The flange wraps around the edges of the man way and the light
is mounted to the flange assembly via an included threaded brass rod. Developed
specifically for a petrochemical client, this solution has been field tested
extensively.

The EPL-TL-C-F explosion proof
portable tank light carries a T3B temperature rating and contains a 400 watt
metal halide lamp that produces 75,000 lumens of light capable of illuminating
20,000 square feet of workspace. The metal halide lamp has a stamped aluminum
lamp guard and replaceable Plexiglas lens protecting the lamp from dirt and
debris and can be easily removed and cleaned, reducing the need for removal and
cleaning of the lamp itself. The cart assembly is constructed of aluminum with
stainless steel fasteners and has two solid rubber wheels and two integral
handles, allowing this unit to be easily relocated around the work area as
needed. The cart and lamp assembly are designed to be easily disassembled
without tools, passed through manholes and then reassembled once inside the tank
or enclosed area.
This unit can also be configured to
hang the lamp head from entry holes and manways. Included with this unit is 250
feet of SOOW cord and a lamp fixture assembly that allows 360 degree rotation
and 90 degrees of tilt for easy positioning. This unit can be configured to
operate on 120 volts @50/60hz (Americas) or 230/240 volts for international use.
This explosion proof tank light
provides a safe, versatile and convenient lighting alternative to sometimes
cumbersome string lights and is ideal for use in confined spaces such as those
found in marine storage tanks, the petrochemical and agricultural industries and
anywhere large area confined workspaces require an effective source of Class 1
Div 1 lighting.
