Larson Electronics manufactures the
Magnalight 12 volt spotlights with magnetic base and 12 volt searchlights with magnetic base with magnetic bases and 16 foot cords in Dallas, TX. These
industrial grade 12 volt spotlights
have been a staple of the cable, telephone and electric utility industry since
1967. Magnalight has since its beginnings expanded this to include the military/law enforcement
industries, federal and local governments, and emergency and first responder industries as well.

HID flood lights with

The Larson Electronics MGL7-480-2X120V temporary power distribution system transforms 480V 3 phase power to single phase 120V AC and 240V AC 60hz. This power distribution system provides operators the ability to safely tap into and distribute 480VAC power from a variety of sources including generators and direct grid power. This portable substation is suitable for outdoor applications, with a fully potted transformer and Nema 3R load center. This power distribution system is configured to transform 480V 3 phase to 120/240 Delta, so up to 5% of the capacity can be used for lighting loads as well.
The MGL7-480-2X120V temporary power distribution system provides a safe and reliable way for operators in industrial settings to tap into and utilize power sources independently of the work area. This unit provides an effective power distribution system for operators performing plant turnarounds, maintenance and cleaning in hazardous areas, equipment installations and repairs, and any activities requiring an alternative to native power sources. This portable transformer is designed to operate with 480v, three phase, 60hz which it then steps down to 120 VAC. The power distribution system on this portable substation makes 120VAC available via two 20amp, 120v GFCI protected receptacles.

Description:
The MGL7-480-2X120V portable power distribution substation converts three phase, 480 VAC electrical current to single phase 120V AC AC via a 7.5kva transformer (480v to 120v, 1ph, 60hz). 25 foot of 12/4 SO line power cord with a L16 30amp, 480v, 3 phase 4 wire male plug is included to connect the substation to a primary 480v 3ph primary power supply. A fused disconnect, main on/off switch provides primary line protection and supplies primary power to the 7.5kva transformer.
Secondary current is wired to a 120v, 1 phase, 125 amp load center with main breaker for ciruit protection. 120 line out protection is provided by two 20amp, 125 Volt, 1 pole breakers. Receptacles include two 20amp, 120v, GFCI waterproof receptacles. The load center is mounted within Nema 4/12 enclosure for protection against accidental contact, rain, dust, splashing water, and sprayed water.
The transformer and load center/distribution assembly is mounted to a standard steel cart style frame resulting in an extremely stable, durable, and mobile power distribution platform. Two rubber tires and a cart style mounting platform provides easier substation mobility, and a center point lift eye allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks. This temporary power distribution solution can be modified to meet the needs of job-site receptacle requirements. Units are available up to 150kva, and can be equipped with skids or trailer mounted.
Applications:
This power distribution system is NEMA 3R rated and ideal for indoor/outdoor use and applications including but not limited to; construction sites, plant maintenance, plant turnarounds, hazardous location operations, shows, exhibits, and shipyard operations. These temporary power distribution systems are popularly used for HAZLOC applications where external power sources are often necessary and work well in combination with explosion proof lights and equipment.
