| Explosion Proof LED Light Fixture with LED bulbs is UL certified for use within rigs, paint spray booths and other hazardous location areas. Two lamp, four foot UL 844 certified Class 1 Division 1 LED light and Class 2 Division 1 LED light.

The EPL-48-2L-LED is designed to use our specially designed LED T-series bulbs. We now offer the second generation of LED tube style lamps for this fixture. Our Magnalight 24 Watt LED bulbs generate nearly 2.5 times the foot candles or Lux of illumination at 8 feet when compared to a standard 60 watt T5HO lamp and measured with a Extech light meter. These LED bulbs are visibly brighter even to the naked eye. Customers are genuinely surprised with the light output on these LED tube lights. In our facility, we replaced 2 standard 8 foot, dual lamp T8 fixtures with a single 4 foot 2 lamp LED light and still had more illumination in the work area.
This explosion proof paint spray booth certified LED light fixture maintains a T-6 temperature rating. Because we eliminate the ballast box on the top of this LED light fixture, this LED light has a slimmer profile and a lighter weight than any of our fluorescent explosion proof light fixtures. Long term maintenance is reduced, as the LED T-series lamps are rated for 50,000 life hours (more than twice the life of a T5HO bulb) and there is no ballast to replace. Finally, solid state LED tubes are very resistant to vibration and extreme temperatures, which means the will last longer than standard fluorescent bulbs.
These 24 watt lamps produce more illumination than standard 54 watt T5HO bulbs, but draw only 1/3rd of current. On 120 volts, the standard EPL-48-2L-T5HO explosion proof fluorescent light, with a combined total of 108 watts, draws 1 amp. This LED version of the same light, with a total of 48 watts, draws only .4 amp.

2. Fixture arrives assembled and lamped to reduce installation time and cost. Adjustable mounting brackets enable the operator to choose any mounting angle for the fixture.

4. No ballast box. No ballast to replace. We simply run the black wire to one end of the bulb and white wire to the other.
5. Heavy gauge extruded aluminum reflectors with high gloss reflective finish. Resists dents and corrosion.
6. A wrench is used to unscrew the end caps for relamping the fixture, while some competitive models require the “tap and knock off” method to loosen the end cap.

Mounting options available:
Unless otherwise specified, our standard, most popular configuration is a standard end mounting shown below. We do offer a pendant mount as well for those needing to suspend the fixture away from the ceiling surface (i.e. suspend from pipe or conduit).
Standard Bracket Mounts:
Each bracket is cinched to the bracket mounting peg on each side of the light. The angle of the bracket is set by tightening two cap screws on either side of the bracket. The cap screws act as a set screw. The bracket itself is mounted via a single bolt hole at the top the bracket. There are two brackets, one on each end of the light. Once the brackets are mounted to a surface (ceiling, floor or wall), the light fixture can be removed from the brackets by loosening the cap screws that hold the bracket to the mounting peg. The first picture shown below illustrates the ballast side bracket and also shows the access caps for changing the bulbs. The second picture shows the bracket at the opposite end of the fluorescent light.
