Magnalight.com Offers Ultra Heavy Duty Version of their LED lights for Extreme Environments

Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com adds a ruggedized version of their LED lights for extreme environments that features a u-bracket style mounting option for greater diversity of mounting and a removable face plate so operators can change optics for enhanced beam management.

(Vocus/PRWEB ) November 20, 2009 -- For high humidity environments with extreme changes in temperatures, Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com added a ruggedized model of their LED lights. The LED lights. The housings are machined from a single piece of aluminum billet and the solid state electronics are placed within the cavity. The aluminum face plate is bolted into place over an o-ring seal. This design enables operators to safely remove and replace the face plate to adjust the optics and change beam patterns. The LEDLB-EM-4 and related LED lights also offer a new trunnion mounting option. The u-bracket is bolted to the surface and the LED light can be positioned across 270 degrees of possible angles. Operators can mount the LEDLB-EM-4 light to a wall and point the light straight up, straight down or any angle in between. The LEDLB-EM fixtures are heavier in weight and are not as sleek looking as their lighter weight LEDLB LED light brethren, but they offer air tight sealing, more optics options and a greater angle mounting options.

“The LEDLB series is very popular, but we wanted to create a heavier duty model and eliminate all but one seal for those high humidity environments where extreme temperature changes are common,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com. “In certain parts of the world, if the LED light rapidly cools and heats in very high humidity environments, the tiniest imperfection in a seal can cause moist air to be drawn in and trapped in the fixture. In the LEDLB LED light series, the operator can remove the end caps to adjust or install alternative mounting options. If those caps are not replaced to specifications, imperfections in the seal can enable moisture to enter and condensate. In the LEDLB-EM LED light series we eliminate that issue by machining the entire housing out of one piece of aluminum billet. However, we also offer a trunnion style mounting bracket, where operators have a greater range of mounting angles available to them. This was in response to customer feedback. Now operators can install the bracket and can position the light over 270 degrees of angles. The LEDLB-EM LED light series is heavier in weight, but offers the operator easier access to the optics, so they can easily change from a spot pattern to a flood pattern if their needs change down the road. We are examining a variety of optics and lens for these LED lights, so in the future operators can really tune the light to their specific beam requirements. The current LEDLB LED light series is sleeker and lighter weight and the operator is committed to the beam pattern they initially select.

Magnalight.com Adds Magnetic Mount 120 Watt LED Light with 7200 Lumen Output

Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com added a high powered, 7200 lumen LED light with magnetic mounts and coil cord with cigarette plug for temporary lighting on vehicles, equipment and other low voltage applications. By eliminating the need to drill holes and run wire harnesses, the LEDLB-40-M offers industrial, commercial and military customers powerful, convenient and durable lighting solutions.

(Vocus/PRWEB ) November 19, 2009 -- Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com added another high powered magnetic mount LED light to its growing range of surface mount and magnetic mount LED lights. The LEDLB-40-M magnetic mount LED light produces 7200 lumens of light and is mounted with 4 adjustable magnet mounts. Powered by a detachable 16 foot coil cord with cigarette plug, the LEDLB-40-M draws only 10 amps on 12 volts and can operate on voltages ranging from 9-32 volts DC. Encased in a finned, aluminum housing, each of the 40 LEDs that make up the array is seated within its own individual reflector. The result is a bright, white even beam that reaches more than 1300 feet and spans 330 feet in width.

“We are continuing to look at ways to improve the ease of mounting and usage of all of our lights,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com. “With our explosion proof lights, we look for ways to make surface mount hazardous location lights portable, by adding wheels, carts and other conveyances. With our LED lights, we look at magnet mount options, so operators can avoid drilling holes and wiring harnesses, etc. We have also done the same with our HID lights, by adding magnets, pedestal mounts and other temporary use options. This particular LED light is 20 inches long, so we equipped it with 4 magnetic bases, which provides 400 pounds of magnetic grip, distributed along 20 inches. As such, operators can use this light on moving vehicles and equipment. As always, we recommend testing the LED light fixture’s grip on each mounting surface to assess its grip. Different alloys, contours and other variables can impact the effectiveness of the grip. We offer a variety of detachable cords, including coil cords with cigarette plugs, straight cords with ring terminals, battery clamps and a variety of other power options.”

Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com offers a wide array of explosion proof lighting, LED lighting and other portable and magnetic mount lights for industrial, commercial and military customers around the world. You can learn more about Larson Electronics at magnalight.com or call 1-800-369-6671 (1-214-616-6180 international).

Magnalight.com Adds Sliding Bracket Mounts to Hazardous Location Fluorescent and LED Lights

Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com offers a new sliding bracket mounting system for its HAL-48-2L Class 1 Division 2 fluorescent light and the HAL-48-2L-LED Class 1 Division 2 LED light.

Kemp, TX (PRWEB) November 18, 2009 -- Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com announced the addition of sliding bracket mounts to its HAL-48-2L and HAL-48-2L-LED Class 1 Division 2 lights. Popular with drilling rigs and other hazardous area locations, the HAL-48 series, equipped with sliding bracket mounts, enable operators to use existing mounting holes or adjust the mounting brackets to available beams and other supports. The HAL-SBM is the designation for the sliding bracket mount, which is the alternative to the standard inverted L-shaped end mount brackets the normally ship with the hazardous location light fixture.

“By adapting the housing to include a channel for the two mounting brackets, operators now have the ability to position the two mounting brackets at just about any distance apart,” explained Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronic’ magnalight.com. “By sliding the individual mounting brackets along the channel, operators have the freedom to set mounting holes on the surface from 3 inches apart to 48 inches apart. Plus, each bracket can be set at different angles. For operators replacing existing fixtures or installing new ones, this Class 1 Division 2 light offers a lot of versatility for mounting options. We now offer the HAL-48-2L with T8, T12HO or T5HO bulbs. More interestingly, we now ship this hazardous location light with LED T-series tube style LED bulbs. The HAL-48-2L-LED Class 1 Division 2 LED Light offers solid state LED technology for vibration resistance and 50,000 hour life hours. Moreover, the 24 Watt LED tube bulbs are approximately 15% brighter than a 32 watt T8 bulb.

Larson Electronics offers a wide array of explosion proof lights and hazardous location lights. Ranging from UL 783 certified portable explosion proof lighting to UL 844 certified surface mount lighting, magnalight.com has lighting solutions for nearly every type of hazardous location area. Visit magnalight.com or contact 1-800-369-6671 (1-214-616-6180 international) for more information.

Magnalight .com Adds Battery Powered Portable LED Lighting for Work Area Illumination

Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com adds a new portable LED light tower for work area illumination for utility workers, construction and military lighting needs. The lightweight, durable WALP-2960 LED light offers a 40 foot radius of light for up to 12 hours of run time in an easy to carry, 15 pound collapsible package.

(Vocus/PRWEB ) November 17, 2009 -- Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com added a new LED light for portable work area illumination. Positioned for utility operators and other first responders, the WALP-2960 portable LED light is designed as a lightweight LED lighting solution that illuminates a 40 foot radius around the light. With an integral seal lead acid battery, the operator can pull the LED light out of the truck and place it next to the work area. The push button on the carrying handle enables the operator to elevate the LED light head from a collapsed carrying position to higher positions to illuminate the surrounding area. The LED light head itself consists of two panels, each pointing in opposite directions. The operator can choose between using one LED panel or both LED panels, depending on run time requirements and required illumination. With 6 hours of run time with two panels and 12 hours of run time with a single panel, the 2960 lumen output light is designed to run all night. The panels tilt, enabling the operator to position the beam downward into manholes or other below surface areas. The stable design offers a low center of gravity, which makes it safe and effective in high winds and bad weather. The portable LED light can be powered via a vehicle battery via a coil cord and cigarette plug or run directly off of AC voltage, ranging from 120 volts to 240 volts. The integral 12 volt 7 amp hour battery is replaceable and rechargeable.

“The WALP-2960 is another approach to portable LED work lighting,” said Rob Bresnahan, with Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com. “The size, shape and function of this LED light is very similar to ‘roller board’ luggage. The collapsible handle extends with a push of a button. However, in this case, the LED light head elevates to a height of 4 feet, with the handle offering more elevation and illumination. The WALP-2960 offers long run time, lightweight form factor and 2300 Lux at 2 feet from the LED light fixture. The wide, rubber base offer weather protection and stability. Once collapsed, the LED light can be tossed in the truck and carried to the next location. At 15 pounds, it is much lighter than our WAL-16LED-BP portable LED light tower, which weighs 55 pounds, but offers a wheeled base for portability and 8 foot elevation for the lighting. The WAL-16LED-BP light tower offers wider area coverage to 200 feet, longer potential run times and more control over the lighting output. However, the new WALP-2960 is easy to move, covers a 40 foot radius around the light and runs up to 12 hours with a lower price point. Once collapsed to 2 feet, it is compact and secure, which makes it easy to store on the work vehicle. Basically, different LED lighting solutions for different requirements,” Rob concluded.

Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com offers a wide range of portable lighting for the utility, construction and military marketplace. Ranging from the established Magnalight HML 12 and 24 volt handheld lights with magnetic bases to portable metal halide light towers and now portable LED lighting, Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com is a one stop shop for lighting needs for commercial, industrial and military applications around the world. Magnalight.com Adds Remote Controlled Thermal Imaging Camera

Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com introduces the RCL-336 remote controlled, pan tilt style, thermal imaging camera. By incorporating a high resolution Flir camera into an established remote controlled spotlight chassis, the RCL-336 enables military, industrial and commercial operators to scan plant and equipment for thermal energy hot spots that indicate potential problems from inside their vehicles. Thermal imaging technology is already used today by the same customers that magnalight.com provides with explosion proof lighting and remote controlled HID spotlights.

(Vocus/PRWEB ) November 16, 2009 -- Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com extended its range of infrared oriented devices, by adding the RCL336 remote controlled thermal imaging camera. A small Flir infrared thermal imaging camera is imbedded in remote controlled pan tilt base system that enables the operator to position the camera’s field of view with 360 degrees of rotation and 140 degrees of tilt. The motor control for the pan tilt camera base includes four directional buttons, fast and slow movement control and basic on and off functionality. The remote controls include radio based handheld and dash mount controllers and a hard wired dash mount controller. The remote controlled, motorized pan tilt thermal imaging camera can be permanently or magnetically mounted and passes information to a 6 inch black and white monitor. While military and law enforcement can benefit from an externally mounted, remote control thermal imaging camera to discern targets and threats in low light areas, the RCL-336 has application in many industries. Utilities can use thermal imaging to detect problem areas in generation, distribution or supply equipment. Manufacturers and petrochemical companies can use the remote controlled Flir camera to scan facilities and product for problem areas.

“We are helping operators see better,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics. “We can do this by providing bright visible lighting, high powered infrared illuminators and now devices like thermal imaging cameras. All objects produce thermal energy, which registers at the upper end of the infrared wavelength range. By replacing an illumination source with a thermal imaging camera in a remote controlled spotlight type chassis, we can augment an operator’s ability to see things not visible to the naked eye. Utility service personnel have been using this technology for years to identify hot spots in lines breaks and other electrical power distribution equipment. Operators in the oil and gas industry utilize thermal imaging to inspect wellhead equipment, refinery equipment and storage tanks. Manufacturing companies use thermal imaging for non-destructive testing of products and facilities. The RCL-336 incorporates the industry leading Flir thermal camera into our most popular remote controlled spotlight chassis, giving these operators the ability to scan the environment for thermal energy without leaving their vehicle. The monitor inside the vehicle will illustrate ‘hot spots’ which can help identify and repair problems.”

Larson Electronics produces and sells a wide range of remote controlled spotlights, ranging from standard halogen models to High Intensity Discharge (HID) Golight spotlights with 3200 lumen output. Magnalight.com also offers a wide range of high powered LED infrared illuminators for low voltage applications. To better serve utilities, contractors and operators in the oil and gas industries, Larson Electronics offers a wide range of permanent mount and portable explosion proof lighting. The RCL-336 remote controlled thermal imaging camera serves the same military, industrial and commercial operators. You can learn more about Larson Electronics at magnalight.com or 1-800-369-6671 (1-214-616-6180 international).

Magnalight.com Adds Surface Mount Billet Encased LED Modules

Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com added several new aluminum billet encased LED lights for low voltage, surface mount applications.

(Vocus/PRWEB ) November 13, 2009 -- Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com added several new LED lights, including the LEDSM-3X60 and the LEDSM-1X60 mounts for flat and tubular mounting of small LED lights. The LEDSM-3X60 LED light consists of three 250 lumen watertight, potted LED lights encased in an machined aluminum billet housing. The LEDSM-1X60 LED light is similar in construction with only a single water tight LED capsule. The individual LED pods contain 15 LEDs and are fully potted. Each LED has a red and black lead for 12 or 24 volt power. Two different aluminum billet mount styles are available with either chrome or black anodize finish. The first mount has a flat mounting surface, while the tubular mount style has a concave base for mounting on bars, rails and other round stock. The 3 LED light models measure approximately 5 inches long and 1 inch wide, while the single LED light is under 2 inches in length.

“The LEDSM series are very rugged, bright LED pods that are mountable via these aluminum billet frames,” said Rob Bresnahan with magnalight.com. The LEDSM60 with a simple aluminum ring mount are very popular for boating and industrial applications. However, customers were looking for ways mount multiple LED pods with better aesthetics. The LEDSM-3X60 and LEDSM-1X60 address this need. These are the most recent addition to our small LED light offerings, including the LEDSM30 courtesy LED light and the LEDSM30MW mini wall washer LED light. These are ultra low current lights that offer 50,000 hours of life and IP67 waterproof durability.”
Larson Electronics provides a wide variety of LED lighting for military, commercial and industrial applications. The LED lighting line includes high powered LED lights, like the 7200 lumen LED10W-9S LED light and the ultra-compact, high powered LED10W-1S 800 lumen LED light. Combined with a variety of mounting options, color and beam patterns, magnalight.com is building a one stop shop for rugged, powerful LED lighting for nearly every application. Magnalight Reports Cyberlux Full Year Past Due on Making Good on Hot Checks

Larson Electronics reported that Cyberlux Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: CYBL) of Durham, North Carolina, has reached nearly a full year overdue on more than $15,000 of purchases for Ultralife Battery Chargers. The battery chargers were ordered, received and sold to the US military. Given that CEO Mark Schmidt signed and sent several, post dated checks that eventually were returned for insufficient funds, Larson Electronics also reported that they are preparing criminal police reports with Durham County’s District Attorney under that county’s Worthless Check Program naming Cyberlux and its CEO Mark Schmidt.

(Vocus/PRWEB ) November 10, 2009 -- “It started out as a fairly simple transaction with Cyberlux,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics' magnalight.com. “Cyberlux was basically buying Ultralife battery chargers with credit card to resell to the US National Guard. We use those chargers for some solutions we build and had inventory. They started sending purchase orders, with the understanding that we had their card on file. Ultimately, they cancelled the card on file. We have since overhauled our credit policies, but our repeated attempts to get paid from Cyberlux have been unsuccessful.”
Rob continued, “Mark Schmidt, CEO with Cyberlux, had sent an email in January of 2009, indicating that they would see the payments through by February. Richard Brown, the media relations person, later called to retract Mark’s email, indicating that their financial position wouldn’t support his claim. He went on to say that Mark Schmidt ‘hid under the desk on these matters.’ Eventually, they sent over a batch of post dated checks. At Cyberlux’s request, we waited until the checks were well past the dates to deposit them. Eventually all but one was returned for insufficient funds. To this date, they have failed to replace the checks or make any other forms of payment. They ordered the product and according to the UPS tracking numbers and their own email communications, received and sold the products. So either they don’t have the money or don’t want to pay it.”
Rob continued, “We contacted the Durham County District Attorney’s office and they looked into Cyberlux and Mark Schmidt. They came back to us a week later and indicated they would pursue the case. We had hoped to avoid this step, mostly due to the time and paperwork involved, but we will move forward now. Given Cyberlux’s dismal financial history and negligible assets, civil judgments are a waste of time. A deadbeat that won’t pay what they owe won’t pay their judgment either. However, we have been successful with criminal prosecution in the past, so we will work through that channel.” concluded Rob.

Magnalight.com Adds Explosion Proof LED Strobe Lights

Magnalight.com adds LED explosion proof strobe lights, which deliver high candela output, three years continuous run time and extremely low amp draw on high and low voltage systems.

(Vocus/PRWEB ) November 9, 2009 -- Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com announced the addition of a 141 candela, explosion proof LED strobe light with UL 844 Class 1 Division 1 and Class 2 Division 1 ratings. By integrating the benefits of LED into an explosion proof fixture, the EPSL-80-141 explosion proof LED strobe light offers longevity, vibration resistance and very low amp draw. With high voltage AC models for 120-240 volts and low voltage models for 12-36 volts DC, this LED strobe light produces strong light output and draws less than one amp. Internal dip switches enable the operator to set the number of flashes per minute or a steady on condition. Available in ceiling, pendant or wall mount, this explosion proof LED strobe light beacon offers an alternative to the conventional EPSL-80 explosion proof strobe light.

“LEDs are incorporated into many of the explosion proof lights, including trouble lights, flashlights, string lights and now the explosion proof strobe lights,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com. “Typically permanent mount explosion proof fixtures are located in areas with less desirable access. You don’t necessarily want to change out bulbs frequently in elevated areas on oil rigs or within manufacturing or storage facilities. With 3 years continuous run time, this explosion proof LED strobe light reduces the need for re-lamping while delivering more light than a conventional strobe bulb. On low voltages, this unit draws less than 1 amp while delivering 3 times the light output of our conventional strobe light model. LEDs are ideal for beacons. We have a whole range of SL-ALM and SL-M LED hazard lights and beacons based on LED technology. LEDs have always been effectively seen at distance. Now with advances in high powered LEDs and more specific reflector technology, we see high visibility combined with high area illumination. So an explosion proof LED strobe light is a natural fit for high output LED technology."

Magnalight.com Adds Red Lens Halogen and HID Hunting Spotlights

Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com added handheld spotlights with dedicated red lens configurations specifically for hunting and spotting applications. By using a dedicated red lens and not a snap on style lens, the HL-85-HID-RL HID spotlight and other handheld hunting lights retain their intensity and beam length.

(Vocus/PRWEB ) November 5, 2009 -- Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com announced the addition of a red lens only handheld spotlight for hunting and spotting. While the red lens and reflector assembly is interchangeable with the clear lens and reflector assembly, the red lens series of handheld spotlights is dedicated to red light output. Often times, “snap on” style red lenses can enable white light to leak out. More importantly, stacking lens reduces the amount of light output delivered by the spotlight. By using a dedicated red lens and reflector combination, the HL-85-HID-R HID spotlight, HL-85-RL halogen spotlight, RL-85-RL rechargeable halogen spotlight deliver high output red light.

“By substituting the red lens and reflector head for the standard clear lens spotlight configuration, we are giving hunters exactly what they need, while saving them money,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com. “We just added it the to the magnalight.com site on Monday and already we have seen a big jump in sales. The HL-85 and RL-85 series of spotlights have adjustable beams. By twisting the lens and reflector assembly in one direction, you can shorten and widen the beam into a standard flood configuration. By turning the lens assembly in the other direction, you can create a focused spot beam. When you introduce a color into a polycarbonate lens, you automatically reduce the light energy that passes through it. Traditionally, spotlight manufacturers offered a ‘snap on’ lens to adjust the color. By doing so, they dramatically reduce the light energy transmitted. With this in mind, we designed a red lens only configuration, which preserves the intensity of the flood beam and the distance of the spot beam while giving a pure red output. Plus, there is no white light leakage which is common with some snap on lenses.
Larson Electronics manufactures a wide range of spotlights, including the HL-85-HID spotlight, the HL-85 halogen spotlight and the HL-85-10W LED spotlight for military, work and hunting applications. With 40 years of experience, including the being the first company to manufacture a cigarette plug powered spotlight in the late 1960s, Larson Electronics continues to deliver quality oriented, innovative spotlights. The HML-5M military spotlight is standard issue to deployed soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan as part of the Escalation of Force Kit. The HML-3 halogen spotlight with magnetic base continues to be a mainstay in cable service trucks throughout the United States. New and innovative products include the HL-85-10W1 LED spotlight which delivers the power of a 100 watt halogen spotlight, producing a 900 foot beam, but draws less than 1 amp on 12 volts and can run more than 5 years 24/7 without a bulb change. Magnalight.com Adds Food Safe Class 2 Division 1 Explosion Proof Metal Halide Light

Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com adds a food safe, explosion proof metal halide light for hazardous locations containing grain, sugar and other food related dusts.

(Vocus/PRWEB ) November 3, 2009 -- Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com added the EPL-HB-MH-FG-71 UL rated Class 2 Division 1 and 2 metal halide light for illuminating hazardous location food storage areas. Configurable with 175 watt, 250 watt or 400 watt metal halide bulbs, this explosion proof food safe light fixture is available with pendant, ceiling or wall mount options. Equipped with an external reflector and cast aluminum guard, the glass dome encapsulating the bulb is coated with silicone. In the event that the dome is broken, the glass fragments remain trapped within the silicone coating. This makes this explosion proof light ideal for applications involving grain, sugar and other food related dusts. The multi-tap light is available in standard configurations ranging from 110 volts to 277 volts. Special order configurations include 480 volts.

“In order to achieve UL ratings of Class 2 Division 1 or Class 2 Division 2 for a metal halide light, you need to use a glass dome,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com. “Typically, glass poses a problem for food processing and storage areas. Obviously, you don’t want glass in the food in the event of damage. A silicone coating overcomes this issue, enabling food related operators to get the ultra bright light output of metal halide bulbs while keeping the food clear of debris. Generally, food related dusts have a lower T-rating, as their ignition temperature is lower than environments with many petrochemical related vapors. Thus, the market is more limited in options for the Class 2 Division 1 lighting products. Having an explosion proof, food safe, Class 2 Division 1 metal halide light is useful to the food industry.

Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com offers a wide variety of explosion proof lighting, from explosion proof paint spray booth lights to hazardous location handheld LED lights. You can learn more about Larson Electronics at magnalight.com or contact 1-800-369-6671 (1-214-616-6180 international).

On a typical 22 amp hour battery jump start unit, this tripod mount LED light will run for 10 continuous hours. Higher output tripod mounted LED lights are also available, including a double headed LED10W-9S models (WALTP-L2X90), producing 14,400 lumens per configuration. The portable tripod mounted LED lights offer a quiet, emission free alternative to diesel generated light towers that are easily carried and configured by a single man.

“We are offering these LED light towers for sale or rental,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com. “Just like conventional light towers, we offer our LED light towers for sale or rental by the week or month. Because they are so lightweight and durable, they can be shipped via low cost UPS ground or air service easily. We have an extensive inventory of LED lights, so we can create custom configurations and get them out the door same day. While we air ship pallets of larger light towers, it is generally more expensive to do this. Now operators don’t need to worry about what the local rental store has available, they can get what they need in a lightweight, portable package and run it off any kind of vehicle, deep cell batteries or a basic jump start kit.”

Larson Electronics offers a wide range of light towers, including explosion proof, hazardous location and LED lighting. You can learn more about Larson Electronics at magnalight.com or 1-800-369-6671 (1-214-616-6180 international).

Magnalight.com Adds Solar Power Generator for Led Lights

Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com introduced a SPG366A-400 solar powered generator with integral light tower. With 400 watts of solar panel collection and deep cell gel style 366 amp hour batteries, the trailer style solar power generator and light tower can effectively provide area lighting for events, work sites and remote areas without noise, fumes or the maintenance typically associated with diesel generators.
said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics.

(Vocus/PRWEB ) October 28, 2009 -- Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com introduced the SPG366A-400 400 watt solar powered generator. Configured like a traditional trailer style diesel generator, the wheeled base includes a trailer hitch, rubber torsion axle and pneumatic compressor. The compressor is used to elevate the light mast which can hold several of high powered LED lights, including the 7200 lumen LED10W-9S LED light or the 14,400 lumen LEDLB-80X2 LED light. An internal jack system levels the solar power generator system once in place. The armored housing encapsulates a 15 foot pneumatic mast, compressor and two gel pack batteries that can support 366 amps for 20 hours. This solar powered generator does not produce the noise, fumes or maintenance issues associated with diesel generators, which makes it an efficient alternative for temporary power distribution for events, work sites and remote area applications.

While the solar power generator is certainly ‘green’ and qualifies for tax credit at the federal and state level, in real world applications it is just a simpler power solution,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics. “Diesel power generators are common sources of power for light towers. However, they are noisy and generate fumes. Most importantly, diesel generators require a diesel mechanic at some point. Depending on the location of the generator, that skill set is not always available. The solar power generator is limited to low voltage applications, however, with the advances in LED technology, we offer some very close alternatives to the traditional metal halide light towers. We offer metal halide light towers as well, so we can compare them on site. Our larger LED lights, like the LEDLB80X2 with 14,400 lumens produces comparable lighting. Our LEDLB-100x2, with 18,000 lumens is also a good alternative also. Without noise of fumes, the LED generator and light tower configuration can be placed right next to the people that need the light. Whether it is an entertainment event or roadside work application, the LED light and solar power generator can really close the gap on the diesel powered metal halide towers, based on distance alone. Finally, we are dealing with low voltage, not high voltage. This is more conducive to wet area applications and the general public. While everyone needs to be careful with current, coming into contact with low voltage will not cause the serious injury and death associate with higher voltage power in the event of a line cut, etc. We are generating, storing and producing the same voltage used in cars, military vehicles and low voltage outdoor lighting."

Magnalight.com Adds 12 and 24 Volt Explosion Proof LED lights

Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com offers low voltage 12 and 24 volt LED bulbs with its explosion proof LED lights, including the Class 1/2 Division 1 EPL-48-2L-LED and Class 1 Division 2 HAL-48-2L-LED. The low amp draw and bright, white light output enable operators on drilling rigs, coal terminals and remote military munitions storage depots to maintain OSHA compliance while minimizing the demands on battery banks or long cable runs.
We came out with the explosion proof LED lights about 6 months ago for AC voltages ranging from 110 volts to 277 volt

(PRWEB) October 27, 2009 -- Larson Electronics adds low voltage explosion proof LED lights to its line of hazardous location lighting. Both the UL 844 Class 1 Division 1 EPL-48-2L-LED explosion proof light and the UL 844 Class 1 Division 2 HAL-48-2L-LED light are now available with two 24 watt T-series style bulbs operating in ranges from 9 to 50 volts.

“We came out with the explosion proof LED lights about 6 months ago for AC voltages ranging from 110 volts to 277 volt,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics. “Now we have developed low voltage bulbs for our hazardous location rated lights. Our low voltage fluorescent lights require an additional ballast to bring the input voltage up to work with the fluorescent bulbs. However, that is not necessary with our LED T-series explosion proof lights, as we eliminate all ballasts and bring the power directly to the LED bulbs. Together, the 24 watt bulbs generate 4100 lumens and draw only 4 amps on 12 volts and 2 amps on 24 volts. These hazardous location lights are lighter weight and do not require ballast replacement. The solid state LED lights are impervious to vibration and offer consistent performance and start times in extreme temperatures. Finally, with 50,000 life hours, operators will devote less time and money to re-lamping these fixtures."

Larson Electronics manufactures and sells a wide range of hazardous location lighting and blowers for commercial, industrial and military applications. You can learn more at magnalight.com or 1-800-369-6671 (214-616-6180 international).

Magnalight.com Adds Explosion Proof LED String Lights for Hazardous Location Use

Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com adds the EPL-SL-10-LED explosion proof string light configuration, featuring 7 watt LED bulbs. This new hazardous location rated Class 1 Division 1 and Class 2 Division 1 string light offers bright, whiter light while eliminating the need to replace bulbs for at least 5 years.
This explosion proof string light configuration offers brighter, whiter light while eliminating the need to change the bulb for years

(Vocus/PRWEB ) October 26, 2009 -- Larson Electronics’ Magnalight.com announced the addition of the EPL-SL-10-LED LED explosion proof string light, featuring 10 drop lights and 180 feet of SOW cord. Carrying a UL 783 rating of Class 1 Division 1 and Class 2 Division 1, the 180 foot string features 10 explosion proof LED drop lights at 10 foot intervals.

Each explosion proof LED drop light is configured with a hanging hook, and a 80 foot tail is terminated with an explosion proof twist lock plug. The hazardous location string light is commonly used for illuminating hazardous location tanks, vessels and other storage facilities where limited access to electrical outlets prevents usage of individual lights. While larger, cart based metal halide lights, like the EPL-24C-1X4 explosion proof tank lights offer a single source lighting solution, the explosion proof string lights remain popular with environmental companies and other operators seeking to clean, blast and re-surface hazardous location storage tanks.

“This explosion proof string light configuration offers brighter, whiter light while eliminating the need to change the bulb for years,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics. “Changing a bulb in a dark, dirty tank is a pain. You have to locate the set screw, back it out and then unscrew the guard and globe while holding a large pipe wrench on the base. With our new LED bulbs, you won’t need to change that bulb for at least 5 years, even if you used it every day. With solid state technology, you don’t have to worry about breaking a filament, extreme temperatures or the other issues that make it necessary to constantly change incandescent light bulbs. Every time you open an explosion proof light, you run the risk of contaminating the seal when the light is exposed to dirt and grime. You can avoid the down time and risk associated with changing the bulb. Plus, you are getting brighter, whiter light output than the conventional 100 Watt halogen. With minimal amp draw, we can provide this explosion proof string light configuration in high voltage or low voltage 12 or 24 volt arrangements.”

You can learn more about Larson Electronics’ wide range of explosion proof and hazardous location lighting at magnalight.com or 1-800-369-6671 (1-214-616-6180 international).

With its brushed aluminum finish and concealed mounting, the LEDCL-280 LED light can be used to adorn interior cabins of boats or illuminate instrument panels in remote area equipment rooms.
This is a small powerful LED light that the operator can position to provide bright, white light that exceeds the output of a 100 watt incandescent bulb

(Vocus/PRWEB ) October 22, 2009 -- Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com announced the addition of another small factor 12/24 volt LED task light for general area illumination. Drawing only 280mA on 12 volts, the LEDCL-280 LED light was initially designed with aesthetics in mind with its brushed aluminum finish and concealed mounting method. However, with an IP65 rating and articulating LED light head, this low amp draw LED light is applicable to a wide variety of industrial and military applications, where a directional wide area flood light is useful. When installed at 20 feet in height, the LEDCL-280 covers and area 25 feet in diameter with approximately 10-15 foot candles of light.

“This is a small powerful LED light that the operator can position to provide bright, white light that exceeds the output of a 100 watt incandescent bulb,” said Rob Bresnahan. “These LED lights are designed for wet area usage and was positioned for interior cabin lighting on boats. While this continues to be an ideal application, the LEDCL-280 offers some other advantages in small work areas, storage facilities and other areas where operators want to conserve power but need bright white light to inspect instrument panels, breaker boxes and other equipment. Low voltage LED lighting offers value not only to conserve current but also in that it is inherently safe for wet area usage. If you don’t need hazardous location lighting, 12 and 24 volt LED lighting is the next best choice for wet areas where GFI is not available. People generally overlook the risks associated with common household and commercial high voltage around wet areas. Using low voltage LED lights in wet area, outdoor application eliminates the risks associated with high voltage. Plus you eliminate time spent in maintenance, relamping and other tasks that can expose the operator and the fixture to the elements. With a 50,000 hour life rating and no filament to break, the LEDCL-280 LED light is ideal in high vibration environments as well."

Larson Electronics offers a wide array of LED lighting, from surface mount LED task lighting to handheld, intrinsically safe LED flashlights. Magnalight.com Offers Custom Manufacturing of Explosion Proof Lighting, Lenses and RF Capabilities

Larson Electronics begins offering services in addition to products, capitalizing on its expertise in RF communications, lens vacuum coating and custom fabrication capabilities. The growing array of infrared lighting, HID remote control spotlights and unique portable explosion proof lights on magnalight.com is a testament to this expertise.
We have expertise in these areas due to new product development or one off projects for large customers

(Vocus/PRWEB ) October 19, 2009 -- Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com officially announced that they have dedicated resources a new custom manufacturing department. Three specific areas of expertise include custom design and development of hazardous location lighting configurations, vacuum chamber coating of specialty lenses and radio frequency based wireless remote control projects.

“We have expertise in these areas due to new product development or one off projects for large customers,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com. However, as time goes on we have hired experts in these areas, who are now a permanent part of our infrastructure. We did extensive research and development to develop a 3200 lumen HID upgrade to the Golight HID remote control spotlights and K&H Nightray spotlights. High Intensity Discharge lighting is much brighter and more efficient that halogen lighting, but the problem is that the ballast generates electromagnetic interference which interferes with the RF receiver operation. We have the depth of experience with military RF communications to solve that problem."

Rob continued, "We developed IR cut off lenses for many of our handheld and vehicle mount spotlights for military applications. We use borosilicate lenses and a vacuum coating process to preserve 90+ percent light energy passing through the lens. The vacuum coating process enables us to precisely control the wavelengths of light that pass through the lenses, while maximizing the light energy. Thus, coated glass lenses will enable operators to get the most light out of a light within a specific bandwidth, like 850nm or 940nm for military applications. The plastic infrared covers are less precise and allow much less energy to pass. Depending on budget and application, operators needing more light to pass in very specific bandwidths will require vacuum coating capabilities. We can develop something very basic like hot mirrors or specialty bandwidth lenses for just about any application with this technology."

Rob concluded, “Our fabrication capabilities enable us to rapidly develop custom brackets, carts and other portability solutions for our explosion proof lighting. Within in a few weeks, we can develop and produce a small quantity of custom masts, carts or magnetic mounts for a variety of hazardous location lighting. We can adapt our existing lights to accommodate specialty UV applications with a Class 1 Division 1 or Class 1 Division 2 fixture for specific manufacturing processes. Combined with our custom build capabilities for portable power distribution, we can offer petrochemical, manufacturing and military customers a one stop shop for their hazardous location and portable power needs."

Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com offers a wide array of remote control lights, covert infrared covers and explosion proof lighting. You can learn more at magnalight.com or 1-800-369-6671 (1-214-616-6180 international).

Magnalight.com Upgrades Halogen, HID and LED Hunting Spotlights

Magnalight.com announced several significant upgrades to its line of HID, halogen and LED hunting spotlights for this season. Upgrades include the addition of an industrial grade switch and cigarette plug and additional support to the internal wiring. Overall, the upgrades are designed to protect the longevity of the light from rough conditions.
While our utility and military customers found the original HL-85-HID and HL-85 suitable, our hunting and sportsmen customers were constantly stretching the cord beyond its limits repeatedly, said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com.

(Vocus/PRWEB ) October 16, 2009 -- Larson Electronics’ Magnalight announced several upgrades to its HL-85 series of hunting lights for this season, including the HL-85 halogen spotlight, HL-85-HID 3200 lumen HID spotlight and HL-8510W LED spotlight. The majority of the upgrades focus on the wiring, switch and cord. Upgrades related to the cord include switching to Deutsch connectors for waterproof disconnects and added cord grips and strain reliefs internally. A new cigarette plug affords the user a tighter grip in the cigarette plug socket. A push button, booted switch replaces the rocker switch and a standard H3 bulb configuration replaces the bi-pin bulb on the halogen HL-85. In general, the upgrades improved durability under extreme conditions and rough use.

“While our utility and military customers found the original HL-85-HID and HL-85 suitable, our hunting and sportsmen customers were constantly stretching the cord beyond its limits repeatedly, said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com. “So we changed the wiring to protect the light and added our military grade cigarette plug to ensure it will stay connected to the power in the socket, even with relentless tugging on the full length of the cord. While we still ship these hunting spotlights with coil cords, we offer our industrial grade straight cords in 16 and 25 foot lengths. We use heavy jacketed wire on these, so tangling isn’t an issue. This is the cord we use with our standard utility service Controlight spotlights and floodlights. We changed over to a booted push button switch, which is easier to use whether you have gloves on or not. Finally, we changed the bulb in our halogen models. The bi-pin style halogen bulb in the HL-85 is a good bulb, but people changing reflectors from clear to red were hitting it and causing damage. We make our own H-3 bulb for this now which has a thicker filament and is about 25% brighter than a standard H3 bulb. The user does need a screwdriver now to change the bulb, but the light and the bulb can take a lot more abuse."

Rob concluded, “Of course our latest addition to the HL-85 series is the HL-85-10W1, which is an 800 lumen, 10 Watt LED spotlight. This LED spotlight draws less than 1 amp on 12 volts and projects a beam 900 feet long by 45 feet wide at its widest point. Reflective and white objects can be seen to distances of 1500 feet. This LED spotlight weighs less than 1 pound and has a narrow reflector head that is less than 2 inches in diameter. You can hold this light all night long and never get tired. This LED light projects as much light as the halogen HL-85, but without the larger reflector. The HL-85-10W1 redefines what a compact, pistol grip style 12/24 volt spotlights is. The LED light head is rated for 50,000 hours of life, so changing a bulb is no longer a concern.”

Larson Electronics offers a wide array of hunting spotlights, military spotlights and utility work lights. You can learn more at magnalight.com or 1-800-369-6671 (1-903-498-3363).

Magnalight.com Adds 240 Watt LED Light with Visible and Infrared MRAP / MATV Light

Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com added a larger MRAP/MATV LED light that provides both visible and infrared LED light within a single light fixture. With 2 separate power connections, 2 rows of 7,200 lumens of LED light can be connected to the blackout system and the remaining 7,200 lumens of infrared light can be connected to the main power system. Once the soldier switches into blackout mode, the visible light turns off, leaving the 850nm or 940nm infrared covert illumination on.
This is the big brother to our LEDLB-24-VIR MRAP light, providing more range and power with the same 50,000 hour life and fixture durability, said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics Magnalight.

(Vocus/PRWEB ) October 15, 2009 -- Further expanding the infrared LED light illuminator line, Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com added the LEDLB-80X2-VIR visible and infrared LED combination light. The LEDLB-80X2-VIR contains an array of 3 watt LEDs with 20 columns of 4 LEDs. At 22 inches long, 5 inches tall and 3.5 inches deep, the LEDs are encapsulated in a aluminum casting and mounted with two 3/8 inch stud mounts suspended from stainless steel brackets. Each LED is packaged in its own reflector, creating a beam coverage area reaching more than 2000 feet in length and 900 feet in width. While the entire LED IR illuminator produces 14,400 lumens, 2 rows of 7,200 lumens are dedicated to visible light, while the other 2 rows are dedicated infrared LEDs. The infrared portion of the LED light can be configured for 850nm or 940nm, depending on customer needs. This 240 watt LED light operates on any voltage ranging from 9-32 Volts DC and ships with 2 separate power connections, terminated in two pin Deutsch sockets. A wiring harness with male connectors is also provided. By providing 2 separate power connectors, MRAP and MATV builders and operators can connect the visible LEDs to their blackout system, while the infrared LEDs remain connected to a constant power supply. When the military vehicle operators switches into blackout mode, the visible LEDs will shut off, leaving just the infrared LEDs energized. The LEDLB-80X2 is Buy American Compliant.

“This is the big brother to our LEDLB-24-VIR MRAP light, providing more range and power with the same 50,000 hour life and fixture durability, said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics Magnalight. “The response to the LEDLB-24-VIR has been exceptional. However, more coverage is always better, so for the vehicles that have room for a 22 inch LED IR illuminator light; this will give them more distance and width for overall area coverage. This LED emitter light is IP67 rated dust and water tight, so it is applicable for sand and wet areas alike. On 12 volts it still only draws 20 amps and as 24 volt military vehicle light it draws only 10 amps. With this fixture, we are really start to cross over into the type of illumination provided by 1000 watt and 1500 watt metal halide fixtures configured for NEMA spot beams. But we are able to control the color and type of light produced with these LEDs. This gives the operator much more control over their environment and maximizes the efficiency of the light energy provided.”
You can learn more about the LEDLB-80X2-VIR and the rest of the infrared LED lights and their line of visible LED lighting at magnalight.com or 1-800-369-6671 (214-616-6180 international).

Magnalight Adds 90 Watt Compact LED Light with 7,200 Lumens and 2500 Foot Flood Beam

Larson Electronics Magnalight adds a compact, 7200 lumen LED light designed for industrial grade, wet area applications. With a 3,500 foot spot beam and a 2,500 by 1,900 foot flood beam, this compact LED light fixture draws less than 8 amps on 12 volts, which is less than a standard 100 Watt halogen bulb.
The LED10W-9S LED generates 7200 lumens of light while only taking up about an area the size of a 5.5 inch cube

(PRWEB) October 13, 2009 -- Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com released the LED10W-9S 90 watt LED emitter light. Housed in cast aluminum, nine 10 watt LEDs are packaged within individual reflectors, generating 7,200 lumens, while drawing only 8.5 amps on 12 volts.

This LED light runs on input voltages ranging from 9 volts to 50 volts DC and its IP68 rating makes it applicable for wet area and dry area applications alike. Equipped with a stainless steel mounting that enables the operator freedom to position the light beam angle, the mounting itself is reinforced with 6 rubber shock isolators to protect the light and stabilize the beam in extreme vibratory conditions. Built and tested in the mining industry, the LED10W-9S LED light can be configured for a long range spot beam reaching 3500 feet or a wide area flood beam covering an area 2500 feet long and 190 feet wide. This LED is stocked in black and white, but other colors, including desert tan are available. The LED10W-9S is Buy American Compliant.

“The LED10W-9S LED generates 7200 lumens of light while only taking up about an area the size of a 5.5 inch cube,” said Rob Bresnahan. “This is where we are heading with a lot of our low voltage vehicle, boat and heavy equipment lighting. These light rival our 50 watt HID in overall spot beam length and definitely outperform those HID lights when it comes to wide area lighting. With no bulbs to change and 50,000 life hours, these rugged lights will serve our commercial, industrial and military customers well. We have taken everything we have learned for our other LED lights and integrated into these newer fixtures. Many of our developments are designed and tested in the mining world, which I believe is the most abusive environments around. If you have a light that is considered standard equipment lighting in copper, coal or iron ore mining, you really have something that can take the extremes in vibration, temperature and overall filth. The LED10W series of LED lights has been developed for this application and so we know that is will perform well on the ocean or on the battlefield.”

Larson Electronics produces a wide range of high powered LED lights for vehicles, equipment and boats, ranging from compact spreader LED lights to 240 watt LED lights. You can learn more about the Magnalight range of LED lights at magnalight.com or 1-800-369-6671 (1-214-616-6180 international).

Magnalight.com adds Explosion Proof High Pressure Sodium Lights for Coal and Other Dusts

Operators dealing with coal or grain dust will find Larson Electronics Magnalight EPL-ACH-HPS150W explosion proof high pressure sodium light useful in penetrating coal, grain and other dusts.
A 150 watt high pressure sodium light outperforms a hazardous location 1000 watt metal halide light when dealing with dusts

(PRWEB) October 12, 2009 -- Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com announced the addition of a Class 2 Division 1 light that is suitable for illuminating areas with airborne dust. While metal halide and incandescent based lights are effective in illuminating most areas, lighting up and area laden with dust requires high pressure sodium fixtures. This is particularly true of combustible coke and coal dust, which is not only dark in color, absorbing light, but also has lower ignition temperatures according to the National Electrical Code’s properties for Group F dusts. However, this explosion proof high pressure sodium light is also effective for grain and sugar dusts which fall into Group G. Certified as a UL 844 Class II Division 1 and Class 1 Division 2 light, this 150 watt high pressure sodium light can be used with flammable vapors in Groups C and D and explosive dusts in Groups E, F and G. Equipped with a trunnion mount and factory sealed cord, the EPL-ACH-HPS150W explosion proof high pressure sodium light can be permanently mounted so that the beam is positioned where the operator most needs the illumination.

“A 150 watt high pressure sodium light outperforms a hazardous location 1000 watt metal halide light when dealing with dusts,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics. “Especially when dealing with light absorbing dusts like coke and coal, high pressure sodium lights will better penetrate the dust cloud, while metal halide light is generally absorbed and ineffective. The properties of a material and the surrounding environment have a big effect on how effective a light is. Metal halide and LED lighting are very effective in general illumination or long distance spotlight applications, but operators dealing with dusts will find more success with high pressure sodium. Assuming the operator is dealing with a Division 1 area, then 150 watts of high pressure sodium is going to be the limit, given the lower ignition temperatures associated with dusts. With a deep reflector, the EPL-ACH-HPS150W explosion proof high pressure sodium light concentrates that light for good punch power in silos and other storage areas.”

Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com offers a wide range of explosion proof lighting with UL certified 844 and 783 Class 1 and Class II ratings for hazardous locations. With options ranging from explosion proof drop lights to paint spray booth rated fluorescent lighting, Magnalight explosion proof lights are applicable to commercial, industrial and military applications. Magnalight.com Adds Class 1 Division 2 HID Flashlight with 1500 Lumens Output

Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com adds a Class 1 Division 2 HID flashlight, which runs for 2 hours on a single charge and produces a beam that reaches 3000 feet. This hazardous location flashlight is certified for groups A, B, C and D.
The ATX-20-S is one of our most popular explosion proof flashlights

(PRWEB) October 8, 2009 -- Larson Electronics announced the addition of the ATX-25-S, a high powered High Intensity Discharge (HID) flashlight with a UL 783 Class 1 Division 2 rating for groups A, B, C and D. The ballast driven hazardous location flashlight produces 1500 lumens, which generates a bright, white beam that reaches nearly 3000 feet. This hazardous location flashlight runs for 2 hours on a single charge and an included charging stand enables the operator to charge one battery while using another. The ATX-25-S is the bigger sibling of the ATX-20-S explosion proof flashlight, which is UL 783 rated for Class 1 Division 1 for groups A, B, C and D. While the ATX-20-S is applicable for confined spaces, where the presence of flammable vapors is constant and dense, the ATX-25-S is an even brighter light suitable for areas where those same vapors are sometimes present in lower densities. The ATX-25-S Class 1 Division 2 flashlight ships with a carrying strap, wall charger and vehicle charger within a blow mold carrying case.

“The ATX-20-S is one of our most popular explosion proof flashlights,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics. “The punch power is so far beyond any traditional hand lamp or incandescent explosion proof flashlight. Thus operators inspecting large tanks and vessels don’t necessarily need to climb scaffold to highlight the tops of tanks. There are very few explosion proof lights on the market that cover acetylene and hydrogen, like the ATX-20-S and the ATX-25-S. This is one of those lights where sales really cluster around usage. Once other operators see this light in use, they want on too. The ATX series is literally a rechargeable metal halide light in a flashlight format. While the ATX-20-S is the most versatile light and can work in all explosion proof and hazardous location areas, it delivers 1200 lumens for 90 minutes. The ATX-25-S is limited to Class 1 Division 2 areas, but at 25 watts it delivers 1500 lumens for 120 minutes. Both lights are water and dust tight and we see the ATX-25-S applicable to pipeline inspection and shipyard and marine applications.”

Rob concluded, "We offer a wide range of explosion proof hand lamps. Most are configured to be flood style task lighting. Very few have a spot beam. Basically, the ATX-25-S delivers a bright white beam that reaches 20 times farther for half the money. Plus, there is no cord to drag around, so it is useful in areas where short term inspections take place and there is no established power supply.”

Larson Electronics produces and sells a wide range of explosion proof and hazardous location lighting, ranging from tripod mounted Class 1 Division 1 lighting to Class 1 Division 2 flashlights like the ATX-25-S. Commercial, industrial and military customers can learn more at magnalight.com or 1-800-369-6671 (1-903-498-3363 international).

Equipped with a lithium ion battery and 960 lumens of illumination, the HL-LED960 LED handheld light offers a wider coverage area, while giving the operator anywhere from 6 to 24 hours of illumination on a single charge.
We have several interesting spot and flood combination explosion proof LED lights that carry a higher price point than the HL-LED960

(PRWEB) October 7, 2009 -- Larson Electronics announced a new addition to its line of rechargeable LED drop lights, with the introduction of the HL-LED960. This rechargeable LED light offers both flood light and spotlight illumination options and the user can toggle between modes using a 3 position rocker switch at the base of the handle. The entire LED flashlight is encapsulated in rubber, including both end caps, for shock protection when dropped.

The internal lithium ion battery can run the LED light in spot mode for 24 hours or in flood mode for 24 hours. A collapsible hook at the top of the LED trouble light offers an easy way for operators to hang the light for task lighting operations. The flood light will easily cover an area 15 feet by 15 feet, outperforming standard 100 watt incandescent trouble lights which generally reach about 5 feet. The HL-LED960 handheld LED light is recharged from a wall outlet. As an added benefit, the charger serves to run the LED light, so in the event the battery is fully depleted, the operator can simply plug the charger into the wall and run the light indefinitely.

“We have several interesting spot and flood combination explosion proof LED lights that carry a higher price point than the HL-LED960,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com. “We wanted to offer a handheld LED light with a rechargeable lithium ion battery for standard area use.

The LED960 produces 960 lumens and runs up to 24 hours, depending on the selected illumination mode. This is a long lasting, durable alternative to a conventional incandescent trouble light that offers a brighter light without the hassle of a cord. It can be used as a flashlight or for standard task lighting. The bright white LED light will give operators more range of illumination than a standard 100 watt incandescent trouble light.”

(PRWEB) October 6, 2009 -- Larson Electronics announced the addition of the Magnalight HAL-48-2L-UV series of UL 844 Class 1 Division 2 lights. In place of a traditional T5HO, T12HO or T8 fluorescent tube, a specially configured ballast and UVA or UVC bulbs produce a very specific wavelengths of ultraviolet light for curing and inspection purposes. Currently available in 120 volts, the ultraviolet hazardous location lights find application in specialty laboratory and manufacturing processes where those specific wavelengths can cure particular epoxies or identify specific contaminants.

“We do a lot of custom configuration of our explosion proof lights and hazardous location lighting to meet the specific needs of different customers,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com.

"This specific solution was identified on a Tuesday and we located the specialty materials and produced these ultraviolet lights by Friday. Our turn-around time on most custom orders is just a few days, and many of our stock Class 1 Division 1 lighting and Class 1 Division 2 lighting ships same day. We keep a lot of finished goods inventory and plenty of parts so we can meet the needs of our customers, even if it is a custom configuration. Occasionally, a supplier falls down on a key part, but we generally look well ahead and stock a lot of inventory. Part of our business model is identifying weak suppliers and making sure that we have 8 or 12 weeks of inventory, instead of 4 weeks. Most of our customers are looking for fast shipping and more than 40% of our orders for hazardous location lighting go overnight or second day. So, we have really optimized our business model for that.”

Magnalight.com Adds Magnetic Mount Infrared Beaconing LED Light

Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com adds a dual purpose infrared LED light with magnetic mount that can be used as a short range flood light or a long range infrared strobe light.
This is a multi-purpose infrared LED light

(PRWEB) October 5, 2009 -- Larson Electronics introduced the Magnalight LED10W-1SS-IR infrared LED beacon with adjustable magnetic mount. The 2 inch square aluminum housing contains a single 3 watt infrared LED light that is available in 850nm wavelength or 940nm wavelength. The infrared LED sits within a parabolic reflector and is protected by an aluminum face plate and polycarbonate lens. Projecting 180 lumens, the infrared beacon emits non-visible light that can be viewed with night vision equipment.

A three position toggle switch controller enables the operator to switch from continuous operation to beaconing to off. Thus, soldiers can use the LED10W-1SS-IR as a short range spotlight or floodlight in one mode and a long range LED IR beacon in another mode. The 100 pound grip magnetic base will stick to any steel surface, including vehicles and equipment. An 8 foot cord links the IR beacon to the controller and another 8 foot cord brings power to the controller from the cigarette plug. The infrared LED strobe light with magnetic base operates on any voltage ranging from 9 to 50 volts DC. Initially designed and built for the US military, the Magnalight IR beacon is Buy American Compliant and completely assembled in the USA.

“This is a multi-purpose infrared LED light,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics. “Typically, LED lights are separated into two distinct functions, illumination or strobing beacons. The LED10W-1SS-IR combines both into a small unit, with the LED head measuring 2 inches square. The entire unit is less than 5 inches tall and is lightweight. The 100 pound grip magnetic base will hold this small, lightweight unit to any steel surface easily and the IR led light can be removed and put away when not needed. Within this small form factor, is both a short range IR flood light and a long range IR flashing beacon. Thus, operators can use this infrared LED light to illuminate areas to 30 feet with non-visible lighting or they can use it as a directional IR beacon to notify other operators miles away. It draws only ¼ amp on 12 volts, so its current draw is minimal and the unit is IP67 rated, being both dust proof and water proof.”

Larson Electronics offers a wide range of LED infrared lights for military, security and hunting applications. You can learn more about Larson Electronics at www.magnalight.com or contact 1-800-369-6671 (1-214-616-6180 international).

Magnalight.com Adds Magnetic Mount LED Lights for Autos, Trucks and Equipment

Magnalight.com introduces magnetic mount led lights that operate on 12 and 24 volts. Producing more than 2000 lumens, lasting more than 50,000 hours and drawing less than 3 amps, these LED lights enable operators to add additional lighting to equipment of vehicles within seconds.
We have a wide range of HID and halogen lights with magnetic bases and adding adjustable magnetic bases to the LED lights is a natural extension

(PRWEB) October 2, 2009 -- In order to provide more portability for their growing range of LED lighting for vehicles and equipment, Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com added the LEDLB-12-M and the LEDLB-MUL-12 magnetic mount LED lights. At 36 watts, the magnetic mount LED lights draw only 3 amps on 12 volts, while illuminating an area 300 feet long. The LEDLB-12-M magnetic mount LED light features two adjustable magnetic bases with 200 pounds of magnetic pull. Operators can move the magnetic mount LED light from vehicle to vehicle, utilizing the coil cord and cigarette plug to power the unit. The magnetic bases are strong enough to hold the LED light on moving trucks and equipment.

The LEDLB-MUL-12-M features an upright handle configuration LED light with a five inch diameter magnetic base with 200 pounds of magnetic grip. The operator can use this as a handheld light while being able to affix it to any steel surface when needed. The five inch handle elevates the LED light head, creating opportunities for more downward angles. Both magnetic mount LED lights produce 2,160 lumens and operate in 9 to 32 volts DC.

“We have a wide range of HID and halogen lights with magnetic bases and adding adjustable magnetic bases to the LED lights is a natural extension,” said Rob Bresnahan. These LED lights contain 12 LED chips that are each encapsulated in their own parabolic reflector. The combined lumen output with a dozen reflectors generates a strong working beam that reaches 300 feet. Add two magnets and provide 120 degrees of tilt through the tension type magnetic bases, and you have a really versatile light source that lasts 50,000 hours and can run off any vehicle, equipment or 12/24 volt battery. A standard car battery will run this light for 20 hours without any support from the alternator."

Bresnahan continued, "Most importantly, there is no mounting required. The user simply opens the box, plugs the light into any available cigarette plug and they are ready to go. Larson Electronics Posts New Explosion Proof Lighting Information on Twitter @lemagnalight

Larson Electronics Magnalight, a leading manufacturer and distributor of explosion proof and hazardous location lighting announced that new product information can be found on Twitter.
The great thing that made us decide to use Twitter, was the ease at which we can share information through it

(PRWEB) October 1, 2009 -- Larson Electronics Magnalight, a leading manufacturer and distributor of explosion proof and hazardous location lighting announced that new product information can be found on Twitter.

“We have struggled with the best way to notify our customer base on new product developments for hazardous locations area lighting,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics. “Many of our customers ask for specialty lighting, explosion proof extension cords and various cart mount explosion proof lights for paint spray booths. Initially, we might not have the bandwidth or materials to address the need for that particular project, but we add it to the list and eventually, we are able to create something that meets the need. Our customers are usually job oriented and they run across the same types of jobs, such as tank cleaning, etc. For example, we are creating new variations of our explosion proof paint spray booth lights most every week, including high powered roll around carts, dolly cart style carts and low voltage options for 12 volt and 24 volt power supplies. We don’t like to email marketing, so we are looking at Twitter as a way that our customer base can keep up with new lighting products. “

"The great thing that made us decide to use Twitter, was the ease at which we can share information through it," Rob continues. " And the great thing about it is that people don't even need to have a Twitter account to take advantage of it, and we can publish it through a Twitter app for mobile phones!"

As social media technology like Twitter evolves, companies like Larson Electronics Magnalight are finding new and useful ways to take advantage of it in order to ease the distribution of information and communicate better with customers in a non-intrusive way. The LEDLB-24-VIR LED light was designed specifically to support military vehicle blackout applications. With dual power supplies, the visible LEDs turn off when the blackout system is activated while the infrared LEDs continue to illuminate.
We originally designed and built this for one of the companies pursuing the MATV contracts

(PRWEB) September 30, 2009 -- Larson Electronics announced the addition of the LEDLB-24-VIR 72 watt infrared LED light. Producing 4,320 lumens, this LED light emitter consists for 4 rows of 3 watt LEDs, each encapsulated in its own parabolic reflector. Two rows of the LED light produce visible light and the other two rows of LEDs produce infrared light. The LEDLB-24-VIR can be configured with 850nm infrared LEDs or 940nm infrared LEDs, depending on the night vision optics available. Individual power leads extend from the rear of the IP67 water and dust tight LED light fixture which can be connected to any voltage ranging from 9 volts to 32 volts DC. By doing so, the Magnalight LEDLB-24-VIR can be wired within the MRAP or MATV military vehicles to produce both visible and infrared lights. When the blackout system is activated, the visible lighting turns off and the infrared light continues. Priced under $700.00, the combination visible and infrared LED light is Buy American Compliant and is available in most any quantity with 10 days or less lead time.

“We originally designed and built this for one of the companies pursuing the MATV contracts,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics’ Magnalight.com. “Ultimately, they were not the winner, however this MRAP/MATV LED light underwent extensive testing and analysis. Since then, we have sold this 24 LED infrared light to US military bases in Kuwait, Afghanistan and Iraq. The beam reaches well over 300 yards with strong illumination and it is priced for large quantity deployments at under $700 per light. The installation is a simple stud mount and we offer our ALMB or BC-1 bar clamp mount for mounting options that provide additional flexibility in setting different mounting angles. We also offer magnetic base models, to make it easier to move this infrared and visible combination light from vehicle to vehicle. While we offer an almost endless array of sizes and shapes, including the LEDLB-80x2, which is a larger 240 watt version of this 24 LED version, the size, price and luminosity make this a popular repeat purchase item from the bases installing the lights. Positioned appropriately, these LED lights can provide the 360 degree lighting required on these military vehicles.”

Larson Electronics Magnalight offers a wide range of visible and LED lighting for vehicle mount and low voltage applications. Known for its HML-5M spotlight found in the Escalation of Force Kit and now the Vehicle Checkpoint Kit provided to deployed US soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Magnalight range of Buy American compliant LED lights, including the LEDLB-24 series and the LED10W-6R have found consistent application on military vehicles around the world. Magnalight.com Adds 2 Foot Class 1 Division 2 Hazardous Location Area Fluorescent Light

Larson Electronics Magnalight adds a two foot version of its saltwater resistant Class 1 Division 2 hazardous location area light. This enables operators in smaller areas subject to intermittent, low concentrations of flammable vapors to meet OSHA regulations and provide general area illumination.
This is an economical solution that offers saltwater resistance for smaller areas where OSHA requires UL Class 1 Division 2 lighting

(PRWEB) September 30, 2009 -- For space constrained fluorescent lighting requirements in hazardous location areas, Larson Electronics Magnalight announced the addition of the HALP-48-2L. Carrying a UL 844 safety rating of Class 1 Division 2, the two long fluorescent light features a glass fiber reinforced polyester housing, poured in gasket and high impact acrylic diffuser. While not as vibration resistant as its aluminum cousins, like the Class 1 Division 2 HAL-48-2L aluminum housing light, this hazardous location area light fixture is designed to withstand weather and saltwater conditions that will corrode aluminum based fixtures. Simple surface mount brackets enable easy installation to walls or ceiling, while a ½ inch threaded NPT enables conduit access and wiring connectivity. Priced under $300, this lightweight, corrosion proof hazardous location area light is suitable for areas where the presence of flammable petrochemical vapors are limited or intermittent, in areas often adjacent to locations where the concentration and continuous presence of these vapors requires explosion proof lighting.

“This is an economical solution that offers saltwater resistance for smaller areas where OSHA requires UL Class 1 Division 2 lighting,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics. “Our four foot version of this hazardous location light is very popular, but we have had requests for a smaller fixture for tighter areas. So we are looking at the whole line and determining where we can offer a two foot version. We did this recently with our explosion proof fluorescent light by introducing the EPL-24-2L, for areas requiring UL 844 Class 1 Division 1 lighting. While the smaller factor doesn’t garner much in the way of savings over the 4 foot versions, customers needing smaller fixtures now have some options. We ship all of our explosion proof and hazardous location area lights with the bulbs installed and we offer this fixture with a choice of T5HO, T12HO or T8 fluorescent tube.”

Larson Electronics provides an extensive array of surface mount and portable explosion proof and hazardous location area lighting. Ranging from intrinsically safe LED flashlights to cart mounted explosion proof paint spray booth lighting, commercial, industrial and military operators can meet their explosion proof lighting needs at magnalight.com. Magnalight.com Adds Intrinsically Safe LED Pen Flashlight

Larson Electronics Magnalight adds an explosion proof LED pen flashlight for hazardous area location use. This Zone Zero rated LED flashlight carries IECex worldwide intrinsically safe rating as well as an ATEX rating for European markets. These ratings are equivalent to UL 783 Class 1 Division and Class 2 Division 1 safety ratings.
The EXP-LED-F4W explosion proof LED flashlight is very popular

(PRWEB) September 28, 2009 -- Larson Electronics Magnalight announced the addition of a new explosion proof LED flashlight with an intrinsically safe Zone Zero rating that meets UL’s Class 1 Division 1 rating for Groups A, B, C and D and Class II Division 1 for Groups E,F and G. This explosion proof LED flashlight also carries a IECEx Ex ia iaD IIC T4 T80C Ga Da rating and an ATEX II 1 GD Ex ia iaD IIC T4 T80C Ga Da safety rating for European markets. Much like the EXP-LED-F4W explosion flashlight, which carries the same international safety ratings, the EPL-LEDP405 uses the latest LED chip technology with a deep parabolic reflector. Although pen sized, this new intrinsically safe LED flashlight generates 25 lumens and runs 20 hours, projecting a beam 50 feet. Equipped with a pocket style clip and a magnet, this LED pen light can be attached in and around inspection areas within any hazardous area location populated with flammable vapors or explosive dusts. Weighing only 1.5 ounces and measuring 6.5 inches the EPL-LEDP405 explosion proof LED pen light is as portable as any standard pen, but produces significantly more light than any other pen light on the market today.

“The EXP-LED-F4W explosion proof LED flashlight is very popular,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics Magnalight. “Pairing high powered LED chips with deep parabolic reflectors has been effective for that LED flashlight, our LEDLB series of LED light bars. So by incorporating the same concept into this new intrinsically safe LED pen style flashlight, we have a very small LED flashlight that produces a strong beam to 50 feet. While the EXP-LED-F4W produces a 225 foot beam and takes 3 AA batteries, this smaller pen flashlight take 4 AAAA batteries. Both explosion proof flashlights are priced u under $40 and are rated for 50,000 life hours, which makes these low cost, fully intrinsically safe, bright flashlights ideal for use in hazardous areas. For shorter distances and intermittent use, these hazardous area location flashlights fill the gap between weak, low cost incandescent flashlights and larger, high powered wide area lighting.
Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com offers a wide range of explosion proof lighting, including LED flashlights, cart mounted lights, hand lamps and surface mounted fluorescent lights. You can learn more about Larson Electronics’ range of intrinsically safe and explosion proof lighting at magnalight.com or 1-800-369-6671.

This key was designed for hostage evasion for military, undercover officers and VIPs who may find themselves help prisoner

(PRWEB) September 23, 2009 -- Larson Electronics Magnalight announced the introduction of white, tan and olive green universal handcuff keys. The patented universal handcuff key opens any brand of handcuff and is made of a uniquely blended thermoplastic material. The key itself is encapsulated in a retaining ring. Just slightly larger than a nickel, the plastic universal handcuff key can be hooked and hidden on shirt buttons, clothing tags, hat brims and other concealed areas. Popular with the various branches of the US military as an escape and evade kit component, known as SERE kits, this universal handcuff key has traditionally has been black in color. While the black is easily disguise even on white clothing, the new colors, including tan, white and olive green integrate more thoroughly into clothing, the backs of watches and other accessories such as shoes. The key itself can be removed and deployed with a thumb and forefinger from its hiding place and then pushed from the retaining ring into position to unlock cuffs. The unique material makes this operation silent and the key itself is tough enough to be used as a daily duty key. More importantly, the non-metallic material is undetectable by metal detectors, including the most current x-ray type of metal detectors.

“This key was designed for hostage evasion for military, undercover officers and VIPs who may find themselves help prisoner,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics Magnalight. “By hiding several of these keys all over their clothing, hats, shoes and other articles, they create opportunities to escape and survive. Encapsulated in a finger condom, this key can even be swallowed and passed by downed air force pilots. The key is a $5 insurance policy to help save your life. With increased military activity around the world and global rise of kidnapping for money events, we have seen this concealable universal handcuff key grow in popularity, akin to armored vehicles and other personal safety measures. The colors we have chosen for the key are ideal for US military uniforms, however, these same key colors blend well with standard clothing articles as well. This handcuff key is lightweight, durable and silently deployed with just a thumb and forefinger, so the hiding placing are limited only by your ingenuity and what you can access while handcuffed.

Magnalight.com Adds Low Cost Flood Light for Utility Service Truck Fleets

Larson Electronics Magnalight adds the MUL-012 magnetic mount 12 volt flood light with cigarette plug as a low cost , durable task light option for utility fleet service vehicles.
Our HML-2, HML-3, HML-4 and ML-2 continue to be staples in the cable, telephone and electric service fleets

(PRWEB) September 17, 2009 -- Larson Electronics Magnalight adds the MUL-012 magnetic mount 12 volt flood light with cigarette plug as a low cost , durable task light option for utility fleet service vehicles.

To meet the demand of utility service operators and contractors seeking lower cost, durable handheld lighting, Larson Electronics Magnalight introduced the MUL-012. The MUL-012 handheld flood light as flood light with lens guard, 5 inch upright handle and 100 pound grip magnetic base. This 12 volt task light is powered by a detachable 16 inch cord with gives it ample room to be used at reasonable distances from the utility service trucks. Unlike the MUL-011, which has a similar form factor but with a longer, focused spotlight beam, the MUL-011 produces a soft, wide beam for close up task lighting. The MUL-011 is simple, durable task light that can be temporarily attached to any metallic surface in and around vehicles and equipment. Once the task is complete, the operator can pull the light 12 volt magnetic light off of the steel surface and return it to the tool box.

“Our HML-2, HML-3, HML-4 and ML-2 continue to be staples in the cable, telephone and electric service fleets,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics. The original Magnalight spotlights are made here in the USA and provide a lot of light in an easy to service form factor. However, newer products like the MUL-012 flood light are hybrids, combining some lower cost illumination components from overseas with our American made chassis. This enables us to bring down the cost for these new products like the MUL-011 spotlights and MUL-012 floodlight. We continue to focus on the important aspects of lighting that degrade with heavy use, like the cords, handle and base. We still integrate a detachable 16 foot cord with a cigarette plug that will actually stay put in the socket. The SP2 jacket cord is UV proof and designed heavy use. The bulbs are easy to change and the solid, injected molded handles and powder coated steel brackets are built here in the States to last. These simple 12 volt spotlights and floodlights are made to suit the needs of large utility service fleets or large contractor bases where it is difficult to keep track of these portable lights. With a price point under $50, the MUL-011 spotlight and the MUL-012 flood light can be an ideal additional to the tool box for fleet service trucks in the utility industries including cable, telephone and electric companies."

Larson Electronics Magnalight was one of the first companies to develop and produce a 12 volt spotlight that plugged into the cigarette plug socket back in the 1960s. Today, Larson Electronics continues to augment the Magnalight line of 12 and 24 volt spotlights and work lights for the utility service industry. However, today Magnalight.com offers a wider range of lighting for those same industries, ranging from explosion proof and hazardous location lighting to portable LED light towers for first responder applications.

(PRWEB) September 10, 2009 -- Larson Electronics Magnalight introduced the 6670 series of High Intensity Discharge (HID) lights for vehicles, heavy equipment and boating applications. Producing 6,250 lumens and encapsulated in a rugged nylon housing, the 6 inch square lens produces a spot beam that reaches 4000 feet and a flood beam that spans nearly 400 feet in length and width. The 6670-S is the 70 watt HID light in a spotlight configuration, while the 6670-F is the HID equipment light with a flood lens configuration.

The HID light is supported by a stainless steel mounting base that is reinforced with shock absorbing bushings, which protect the spotlight and stabilize the beam. Drawing less than 6 amps on 12 Volts and less than 3 amps on 24 Volts, the 6670 HID spotlight will operate on any voltage ranging from 9 to 32 Volts. Including the mounting bracket, the 6670 is 9 inches tall and 8 inches deep while weighing just 4.2 pounds.

“This HID light is a new addition to the 66 series of HID spotlights and floodlights,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics Magnalight. “It features our new 70 watt HID ballast and bulb combination. The 6600 series of HID lights has always been one of our most popular lights, even in the 50 watt HID model. While many of the HID lights still feature 35 watt HID technology, our industrial, marine and military customer base is constantly searching for more illumination and more beam distance. The HID-6670 delivers nearly 2000 more lumens that the HID-6600 series at 50 watts. However, it still incorporates the shock absorbing mounting system, which helps to stabilize the beam on heavy equipment, tractors and other vibratory equipment. If you are working on a front loader for several hours at night, staring at a jiggling beam get real old. The nylon and stainless steel construction has served well in the commercial boating space, where fisherman of all sorts can subject the HID light to saltwater and other harsh conditions while still controlling their current usage. The 6670 HID light series, like its predecessors, operates off of a standard 12 volt or 24 volt vehicle or boat battery system. There is no high voltage or inverters to deal with. At 70 watts of HID light output, the 6670 HID light becomes an effective alternative to 300 watt quartz lights and other high wattage halogen type lighting often found on boats, heavy equipment and work vehicles. HID bulbs work without a filament, so there longevity exceeds 2000 hours. With no filament to break, HID lights offer a high level of vibration tolerance as well, which makes HID lights ideal for construction, boating, agricultural and military applications.”

Larson Electronics Magnalight offers a wide array of 12 volt and 24 volt lighting, including halogen lights, HID lights and LED lights. You can learn more about the HID-6670 HID light and the other Magnalight lights at magnalight.com or 1-800-369-6671.

For highly vibratory, corrosive environments Larson Electronics Magnalight introduces the HALSS-48-2L-LED stainless steel light fixture. UL 844 rated Class 1 Division 2, this hazardous area location fixture is designed for saltwater environments with extremes in temperature. Formerly available only with the traditional T8, T12HO or T5HO fluorescent bulbs, the new version offers 4100 lumens, provided by LED t-series bulbs, which augments the light’s ability to withstand vibration and remain in operation longer before re-lamping is necessary.
Generally speaking, our stainless steel fixture is used in environments where the fixture is just going to take a pounding
We are slowly adding line extensions to our explosion proof and hazardous location area lights that incorporate the latest high powered LEDs

(PRWEB) September 9, 2009 -- Furthering extending a wide range of explosion proof and hazardous location lighting, Larson Electronics Magnalight announced the addition of a T-series LED tube based stainless steel light fixture. A fully corrosion resistant light, the HALSS-48-2L-LED contains two 24 Watt LED tubes and produces 4100 lumens. The Magnalight T-series bulbs are vibration-proof and last 50,000 hours, while producing approximately 15% more illumination than a common 40 watt T12 bulb. Supported by an integral reflector and encased in a stainless steel housing, the hazardous location area light is ideal for extreme vibration environments, where the fixture will be constantly exposed to saltwater and other substances that would degrade or corrode the aluminum housing based fixtures, like the HAL-48-2L. The HALSS-48-2L-LED is a four foot, 2 lamp light with a UL 844 Class 1 Division 2 rating. Like the HALSS-48-2L, the current fluorescent model, the new stainless steel model with LED tubes is available with approximately 1 week lead time.

“Generally speaking, our stainless steel fixture is used in environments where the fixture is just going to take a pounding,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics Magnalight. Our reinforced polyester housing model, the HALP-48-2L is ideal for less extreme, but corrosive environments. When there is a lot of vibration, the stainless steel fixture is better suited for longevity. Our HAL-48-2L is a very popular Class 1 Division II fixture, with its extruded aluminum housing and T5HO or T12HO bulbs. We are simply building on that same basic structure and offering different housing materials to suit corrosive environments, which is mainly saltwater related. The HALSS-48-2L, both in fluorescent and now in LED T-series bulbs, offers a flexible mounting system which enables operators to position the light at any angle necessary while securing the fixture to the mounting surface. Built from 14 gauge stainless steel and, this model offers easy re-lamping via accessible high impact acrylic lens cover.

“We are slowly adding line extensions to our explosion proof and hazardous location area lights that incorporate the latest high powered LEDs,” Rob continued. In most cases, this lowers electric consumption and provides at least twice the life of the fluorescent bulbs. Most importantly, these solid stated LED T-series bulbs are vibration proof which improves longevity on oil rigs, marine vessels and other very vibratory applications.”

Larson Electronics Magnalight offers a diverse line of explosion proof (Class 1 Division 1) lights and hazardous location area lights (Class 1 Division 2) for industrial, marine and military applications. Magnalight Introduces American Made Weapon Mount Green Laser Sight

Building on the success of their HML-5M 24 volt military spotlight, Larson Electronics Magnalight introduces a weapon mount green laser sight. Since green is the color that the human eye can see at the farthest distance, green lasers are ideal for identifying targets and communicating intentions to potential threats.

Larson Electronics Magnalight introduced a weapon mount green laser sight with 532nm, continuous wave 5mW output. Powered by standard or rechargeable CR123A batteries and attached via a quick release Picatinny rail mount, the 11051-G green laser sight is activated by a tail cap switch or included pressure switch. The 11051-G green laser sight is made in the USA and sells for under $200.

“Green is the color that the human eye can see the farthest,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics. “Thus green lasers make ideal weapon sights. As such a distinctive color, green also is more noticeable, so it becomes easier to contain and control individuals once the beam is on them. In a military application, the green laser beam enables soldiers to communicate their presence and intentions before the situation escalates. The 11051-G has a quick release Picatinny rail mount, so it can be removed from the weapon and used in a handheld pen style. We wanted to avoid barrel mounting the laser, since the amount of punishment they take in that position ultimately destroys the laser sight. “

“Finally, all the components of this green laser sight are made in the USA, including the aluminum housing brass threads, switch assemblies and machined mounts. We offer this laser at outputs starting at 5mW, but can provide higher power output to suit customer requirements. We have a lot of flexibility in this design, since it is built right here in Texas. Our American made HML-5M-CP spotlight is standard issue in the Escalation of Force Kit and now the Vehicle Checkpoint kit for the US Troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. So, now we are looking to expand our offerings to include other useful tools for similar applications,” Rob concluded.

Larson Electronics manufactures and sells a wide variety of industrial and military grade lighting products, ranging from 24 volt handheld spotlights to explosion proof lighting products. Magnalight Adds LED T series bulb options to Corrosion Resistant Hazardous Area Fluorescent Lights

Expanding on its line of explosion proof and hazardous location fluorescent lighting, Larson Electronics Magnalight now offers LED T series bulbs for its HALP and HALSS series of corrosion resistant lighting.

The HALP series offers a glass fiber reinforced polyester housing and an acrylic diffuser lens cover, while the HALSS series offers a stainless steel housing and high impact acrylic lens.  Both lines of UL 844 approved Class 1 Division II lights are designed to accommodate saltwater and other corrosive liquids and gases that may be present in marine and other environments.  While the standard HAL series, outfitted with a extruded aluminum housing, continues to be a mainstay for standard hazardous location area lighting, the non-corrosive materials used in the HALP and HALSS series offer a specific value proposition for corrosive environments.  The introduction of LED T series replacement bulbs improves the efficiency and the longevity for all three lines of Class 1 Division 2 fluorescent lighting.

“Off shore oil rigs, shipyards and a wide variety of manufacturing environments take advantage of the non-corrosive properties of these UL 844 approved fluorescent lights today,” said Rob Bresnahan, with Larson Electronics.  “Going forward, these LED T-series bulbs reduce the electric usage, while offering longer life and greater vibration resistance.   This translates into savings of time and money associated with re-lamping these hazardous area light fixtures, especially in difficult to access areas.  Due to new advances in LED technology, these 24 Watt LED T-series bulbs generate more light output than 40 watt fluorescent tubes, but less light output than the T12HO or T5HO bulbs we normally include with our standard configuration.   However, these T-series LED bulbs use the latest Samsung LEDS and offer 50,000 hours of life, lower electric usage and substantial vibration resistance which is ideal for the harsh environments these explosion proof lights are used in.  We offer these in 4 foot, 2 lamp models and 2 foot, 2 lamp models.  The HALP-48-2L-LED and HALSS-48-2L-LED are the latest 4 foot additions and the HALP-24-2L-LED and the HALSS-24-2L-LED are the 2 foot versions. “

Larson Electronics manufactures and sells a wide variety of industrial grade lighting, including Class 1 & 2 Division 1/2 explosion proof lights and Class 1 Division 2 hazardous location lights.  Ranging from handheld flashlights and rechargeable lights all the way to portable light towers, magnalight.com offers an extensive array of lighting for industrial, military and petrochemical operations, where the presence of flammable vapors or dusts are present.   You can learn more at magnalight.com, by calling 1-800-369-6671 or by e-mailing Robert Bresnahan directly at rb@magnalight.com.

Magnalight Adds Class 1 Division 2 LED Light With T Series Style Bulbs

Manufacturers and operators looking for LED lighting for oil rigs and hazardous areas will find Larson Electronics’ HAL-48-2L-LED to be a familiar alternative to incandescent and fluorescent hazardous location lighting. With a UL 844 Class 1 Division 2 rating for Groups A-D, the HAL-48-2L-LED offers 48 Watts of LED T-series style bulbs, producing 4100 lumens.

Each Class 1 Division 2 LED light bulb is rated for 50,000 hours of life and contains solid state technology within an aluminum chassis, making it nearly vibration proof. Common applications for Class 1 Division 2 LED lights include manufacturing, petrochemical and oil field applications.

“Wherever you have a lot of vibration or extreme hot and cold temperatures, LED’s make a lot of sense,” says Rob Bresnahan, with Larson Electronics LLC. “LED hazardous area lights, also known as explosion proof lights, offer much longer life, lower current draw and vibration proof operation. Since the T-series LED lights do not require a ballast, the overall maintenance is reduced to re-lamping only. These lighter weight hazardous location LED lights are easy to install and are available in a variety of voltages. Lately, we have seen more demand for 12 and 24 volt explosion proof and hazardous location lighting, so we now offer these LED T-series fixtures in low voltage and high voltage to meet that demand. The HAL-48-2L-LED is a 4 foot 2 lamp hazardous location light, which is a cousin of the HAL-48-2L which is a fluorescent fixture available with T8, T12HO or T5HO bulbs. That HAL-48 series comes with standard surface mounting brackets suitable for any vertical or horizontal surface and a ¾ threaded hole for conduit. Optional sliding mounting brackets are available for non-contiguous mounting surfaces, beams or replacement of other similar style fluorescent fixtures. With a UL 844 Class 1 Division 2 rating, UL 595 for saltwater marine applications and UL 1598A for outdoor and wet area us, this versatile fixture offer a familiar format with LED benefits. Most importantly, this Class 1 Division 2 LED light is affordable and carries a 7 year warranty. “

Rob continued, “While our EPL-48-2L explosion proof light fixture series continues to be the flagship product with its Class 1 Division 1 rating and Paint Spray Booth certification, our second most popular class of fixtures is the HAL series of fluorescent lights. The HAL models feature an aluminum extrusion housing, while the HALP series is built with a polyester blend material that is suitable for corrosive, low vibration environments. For vibratory environments with demanding corrosion resistant requirements, the HALSS series offers stainless steel housings. Now that we have moved into the LED space, these fixtures are available with T12HO, T5HO and T8 fluorescent bulbs as well as our new T series LED bulbs. However, at this time, we only offer the 4 foot models with LED bulbs, while the rest of our fluorescent models are available in 4 foot and 2 foot models. “

Larson Electronics manufactures and sells a wide range of industrial lighting, ranging from explosion proof paint spray booth lighting to 1000W metal halide Class 1 Division 2 fixtures. The growing ranges of explosion proof and hazardous location LED lighting includes fluorescent style fixtures, hand lamps and flashlights. Magnalight Introduces Explosion Proof LED Drop Lights and Hand Lamps

In ongoing effort to bring LED technology to bear in hazardous location areas, Larson Electronics Magnalight has introduced the EHL-LED-7W explosion proof hand lamp. Throughout the industry, explosion proof hand lamps are also referred to as drop lights, task lights or trouble lights.
There are three main advantages to using this explosion proof handheld LED light

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) August 20, 2009 -- Equipped with a 100 foot cord, the 7 watt LED light bulb in these explosion proof LED drop lights runs cooler than 100 watt or 75 Watt incandescent bulbs, while generating more white light. The LED bulb offers a longer life of 50,000 hours and does not contain a breakable filament like its incandescent brethren. The EPLHL-LED-7W explosion proof task light is UL 783 rated for Class 1 Division 1 & 2 Groups C and D and Class II Division I & 2 for Groups E, F and G. The explosion proof LED trouble light features a 100 foot SOW cord, aluminum guard and swivel hook.

The ELHL-LED-7W is available in high voltage configurations ranging from 120 Volts to 277 Volts and works on 50hz and 60hz systems. The explosion proof drop light is also available for low voltage applications, including 12 volts and 24 volts, making it ideal for wet area use where GFI is not readily available. The EHL-LED-7W is suitable for hazardous location areas, wet areas and confined spaces where either flammable vapors or explosive dusts are constantly present. Applications for hazardous location LED lights include tanks, vessels, wash down areas, grain elevators, manufacturing facilities and all manner of petrochemical facilities.

“There are three main advantages to using this explosion proof handheld LED light,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics. “First and foremost, we are offering a bulb that is very difficult to break, no matter how many times you drop it. One benefit here is that we are eliminating down time for operators in hazardous location areas. Changing a light bulb in an explosion proof hand lamps requires significant disassembly. If an operator re-assembles the light incorrectly, they could negate its hazardous location characteristics. By offering a vibration resistant LED bulb with long life, we eliminate the need for changing the bulb, which improves safety. Obviously, there is much lower current draw from these LED bulbs, which use less than one tenth of the current of the typical rough service 100 watt incandescent bulbs normally used. While this has “green” energy saving implications, it also extends the run time for operators using generators in remote locations. Most importantly, these LED bulbs produce nearly twice the foot candles and offer much whiter light than either the yellowish type light emitted by the 75 watt or 100 watt incandescent bulbs. Not only is it measurable with a light meter, but is a dramatic difference that is obvious when you put the incandescent and LED models side by side. Incandescent task lights will generally be effective within a 5 foot radius, producing 3 foot candles, which is more or less like working under a street light. The Magnalight LED explosion proof light offers more than 5 foot candles over 10 feet, which is comparable to working in a well lit parking light of a new Target or Kroger grocery store. Finally, we are talking about a light that can run for nearly 6 years, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is certainly and ideal configuration for end users and rental fleets alike. Larson Electronics directly controls the development and production of this LED bulb and thus we are able to stand behind it with a 5 year warranty. Basically, anyone using this explosion proof LED trouble light shouldn’t need to replace their bulb for 5 years.”

Magnalight Broadens Range Of Explosion Proof And Intrinsically Safe Blowers

In order to better serve a customer base ranging from aerospace companies to environmental service companies, Larson Electronics Magnalight added a wider array of explosion proof blowers and fans to a deep line of hazardous location lighting.
When operators are looking to remove toxic air from confined spaces, they generally determine the rate at which the area needs to be cleared

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) August 18, 2009 -- The EPF-E16-4450 is the latest addition to the range of explosion proof ventilation fans, with a 16 inch opening, this electric blower moves 4,450 CFM of air and is rated for hazardous locations rated Class 1 Group D and Class II for groups E,F and G. With a box fan configuration, this explosion proof electric fan is useful for portable and semi-permanent applications. The EPF-30P is an air driven blower pushing more than 2000 cubic feet per minute and is rated for Class 1 Groups A, B, C and D and Class II Groups E, F and G. The pneumatic design of the EPF-30P enables it to operate in hazardous areas that are not certified for any electric blower, including hydrogen. The EPF-30P is very portable at 28 pounds.

“When operators are looking to remove toxic air from confined spaces, they generally determine the rate at which the area needs to be cleared,” explained Rob Bresnahan, with Larson Electronics. “They will determine the volume of the space and divide that cubic foot total by the number of minutes they want to cycle stale air. For example, if they want to clear 4800 cubic foot of air every 8 minutes, they will need a explosion proof fan or blower that will exhaust at least 600 cubic feet per minute (CFM). Most states offer standard cycle rates for clearing stale air, depending on the type of air. Our explosion proof fans ship with static conductive duct which is typically grounded to the blower and prevents static discharge of dry air passing through the duct. For simplicity sake, any blower that you see on Magnalight.com includes one piece of static conductive duct. Additional lengths of duct are shown as related items at the bottom of the product page. Each accessory static conductive duct ships with an aluminum coupler necessary to connect additional ducts together. This simplifies the process for the operator, making sure that they get what they need to the job site the first time,” Rob continued.

Larson Electronics offers a wide range of explosion proof and intrinsically safe lighting and air movers for hazardous location use. Ranging from explosion proof LED flashlights to 400 Watt metal halide tank lights for manhole access, and intrinsically safe fans and blowers, like the EPF-E16-4450 explosion proof box fan, for electric and pneumatic operation, Larson Electronics Magnalight offers most of the critical project requirements for operators in hazardous location areas. Magnalight Introduces First Explosion Proof LED Light for Fluorescent Replacement

Larson Electronics' Magnalight announced the production ready release of the EPL-48-2L-LED, a fully integrated, explosion proof LED light for hazardous location areas.

(PRWEB) July 22, 2009 -- Larson Electronics Magnalight announced the production ready release of the EPL-48-2L-LED, a fully integrated, explosion proof LED light for hazardous location areas. Rated UL 844 Class 1 Division 1 and Class II Division 1, this LED light fixture is also UL listed for use in wet areas and paint spray booth operations. Equipped with two 24 watt LED T-series style bulbs, this fixture is an LED powered alternative to the popular EPL-48-2L explosion proof fluorescent light fixture. Absent is the standard ballast box assembly, since the T-series style LED light bulbs run directly off high or low voltage power. The EPL-48-2L-LED can run on voltages ranging from 120 volts to 277 volts and low voltage models can run on 12 and 24 volts AC or DC. This Class 1 Division 1 fluorescent light alternative produces 4100 lumens and is available in 4500K, 5600K and 6500K color ranges. The T-series style LED bulbs have the same pin configuration as a standard T8 fluorescent bulb and are made using the new Samsung LEDs which provide high lumen output efficiency while operating at lower temperatures than the fluorescent T-series bulbs they replace. Rated at 50,000 hours of life, these LED T-series tubes offer more than 2 times the longevity of comparable T-series fluorescent bulbs while drawing less current.

Rob Bresnahan, President of Larson Electronics, explained, “We are looking to offer our customers hazardous location LED lighting that will offer economical advantages. Obviously longevity offers savings, because you are not replacing the bulbs as frequently as you would with fluorescent bulbs. However, you can buy a lot of fluorescent bulbs for the cost of the LED bulbs. LED bulbs are still significantly more expensive than incandescent or fluorescent bulbs. The gap in bulb longevity is much greater with incandescent lights than it is with fluorescents. However, the Magnalight T-series LED tubes have lumen output on par with the T8 32 watt fluorescent. So, there is legitimate 25% savings in electricity with twice the bulb life. Depending on usage, there could be real savings here.

However, the replacement cost on a T8 bulb is less than $10 and the LED is running north of $50 right now. So, additional savings are going to come from the relamping process.    Relamping explosion proof fixtures takes more time that relamping a normal ‘drop-in’ fluorescent light found in a normal office environment. You don’t just swing open door and twist some new bulbs into place. All Class 1 Division 1 and Class II Division 1 fluorescent lights are relamped from one end to maintain the seals necessary to achieve the safety ratings. Fixture placement may require man lifts, ladders or other aids in reaching the fixture, especially if they installed in an aerospace industry style paint spray booth or on an oil rig in transit. As such, relamping explosion proof lighting may result in additional costs and safety concerns associated with changing the bulbs. This especially true for 24 hour operations, where production and/or man hours have to be diverted from revenue generating operations to maintenance and repair. So, we think that LED T-series style offers legitimate savings for operators that have hazardous location lighting requirements. “

Rob continued, “Shortly, you will see the LED bulb option available for our explosion proof hand lamps, drop lights, etc. since there are also some clear advantages in cost, since the incandescent bulbs are particularly short lived and more susceptible to vibration. Moreover, operators replacing bulbs in the field lose time and have to pay close attention to all the gaskets and brackets needed for re-assembly to maintain the UL 783 safety ratings. One of the biggest advantages to LED bulbs for the industrial arena is that they are vibration proof. Incandescent bulbs, even rough service bulbs, have a filament that may break when the light is dropped. The fluorescents are more resilient, but high vibration environments, like oil rigs will take their toll on those bulbs too. LEDs are impervious to vibration and we have developed a lot of techniques for dampening vibration effects on the components that drive the LEDs as well. Our LED bulbs are unaffected by vibration. You can drop them endlessly and the bulbs will continue to function normally. “

Larson Electronics LLC manufactures and sells a wide range of hazardous location lighting and air handling equipment. Starting 1967 with a range of heavy duty utility lights for cable, telephone and electric utility service companies, Larson Electronics’ HML-5M military spotlights are standard Escalation of Force issue for US soldiers in the Middle East. Magnalight.com Adds UL 783 Compliant Explosion Proof Flashlight with 1000 Foot Spot Beam

Larson Electronic's Magnalight added a UL 783 compliant explosion proof flashlight that produces a bright white beam that reaches more than 1000 feet to its growing range of hazardous location lighting.

(PRWEB) July 22, 2009 -- Larson Electronic's Magnalight added a UL 783 compliant explosion proof flashlight that produces a bright white beam that reaches more than 1000 feet to its growing range of hazardous location lighting. As an alternative to conventional drop lights that produce a soft, wide flood style beam the ATX-20-S produces a narrower, focused beam of light which is effective for inspecting areas that are out of reach in larger tanks and vessels. The ATX-20-S offers 90 minutes run time per rechargeable battery and is compliant with UL 783 Class 1 Division 1 and Division 2 for groups A,B,C and D. As such, the ATX-20-S explosion proof flashlight is suitable for use in confined spaces where the persistent presence of flammable vapors is common.

Rob Bresnahan, with Larson Electronics, explained, “Late summer and early fall are popular times for plant maintenance. As manufacturing facilities and petrochemical based operations shut down plant operations for repair, the need for long range handheld spotlights increases. When dealing with resurfacing the inside of large tanks and vessels, operators need bright flood lights as well as a longer range, narrower spot beam. For that reason, we have very bright, yet portable flood lights, like our EPL-BS-70-100 for illuminating a general area with soft, white light for working. However, we also have the ATX-20-S, which is a 1200 lumen rechargeable flashlight that produces a 1500 foot long, bright white beam for inspection purposes. When operators need to examine areas for imperfections, a long range spot beam saves a lot of time, especially in larger tanks and vessels. Both of these lights carry a UL 783 Class 1 Division 1 safety rating for use in confined spaces that contain flammable vapors. The EPL-BS-70-100 also carries a Class II Division 1 rating, so it can be used in confined spaces laden with explosive dust, like coal, grain and sugar dust. The ATX-20-S is unique in that offers focused metal halide light in a lightweight, handheld format with UL 783 Class 1 Division 1 ratings for groups A, B, C and D. This unique, because there are not very many explosion proof hand lamps (drop lights) that offer Group B, which is hydrogen. This makes the ATX-20-S a pretty useful tool. With 90 minutes run time and rechargeable batteries that are easy to change, the ATX-20-S offers more versatility and utility than corded hand lamps, especially when working in areas where there is no ready source of electrical power. It is also a low voltage unit, operating on 12/24 volts from the battery, which makes it safe for wet areas as well. Compared to conventional explosion proof hand lamps, it is very easy to maintain in the field. The bulb or battery can be changed in under a minute. The metal halide bulb is rated for more than 2000 hours of continuous operation, so the need for changing the bulb is much less than conventional incandescent or fluorescent bulbs as well."

Larson Electronics offers a wide range of explosion proof lighting and ventilation options for use in hazardous areas. This includes explosion proof fluorescent paint spray booth lights, rechargeable Class 1 Division 1 led lights, 400 watt metal halide flood lights on carts and explosion proof black lights. In addition to providing UL rated lighting, Larson Electronics Magnalight continues to expand its range of explosion proof and intrinsically safe fans and blowers. The EPF-E16-4450 is the latest addition, which is an electric explosion proof blower that delivers 4450 CFM. You can learn more about Larson Electronics at www.magnalight.com or 1-800369-6671.

Magnalight.com Expands Range of Remote Control Spotlights for Boats

Larson Electronics Magnalight announced the addition of 3 HID remote controlled spotlights for small and large boats, including the GL-3067H, the RCL360-HID and the HID-35-RC models.  The GL-3067H features a 3200 lumen upgrade to the original Golight remote control spotlight.  The GL-3067H offers 2 wireless remote controls, one for the dash and one for handheld operation.   The operator brings power and ground to the searchlight, typically borrowing the harness used for the running lights on the front of the boat, making the GL-3067H a very simple installation.  RCL360-HID-RF offers the same simplicity in the installation, but offers a more elevated spotlight configuration for operators looking to project a 3200 lumen beam over the windlass or bow rail.  While the RF designation denotes wireless operation, the standard RCL360-HID is also a permanent mount marine spotlight with a wired joystick style controller that enables the operator to move the light not just elevate and rotate the light, but also move the beam at 45 degree angles.  Finally, the HID-35-RC is a powerful High Intensity Discharge model that projects a 5000 foot beam and is constructed from chrome plated brass.  The HID-35-RC is a large, powerful HID powered searchlight that offers a dash mounted, wired controller that includes automated sweep functions, SOS beam patterns, fast/slow modes, etc.

Rob Bresnahan, with Larson Electronics, explained, “Now that most of the country has warmed up, boaters are searching for searchlights that enable them to navigate a growing variety of obstacles in the water.  Here in Texas, are manmade lakes are full of stumps, floating logs and rocks.  Along the east coast, boaters have to contend with the proliferation of crab pots and related fishing gear in the waterways leading to the ocean.  In the ocean, boaters are looking for buoys, markers and other objects that improve or hinder nighttime navigation.  High Intensity Discharge (HID) lights generate much more light than high wattage incandescent lights for a fraction of the current draw.  Plus the light output is very white and clear as opposed to the yellowish light produced by incandescent lighting.

“For boat operators with significant radar equipment, high powered radios and other equipment that could disrupt the wireless control of the searchlights, we offer the GL-3020H for wired HID Golight with HID power, the RCL360-HID and the standard HID-35-RC.  These models have wired controllers which means the operator will need to run a wiring harness from the location of the spotlight to the location of the controller. “

Larson Electronics Magnalight offers a wide range of boat lights, including LED spreader lights, underwater LED lights, LED courtesy lights and an extensive range of motorized remote controlled halogen and HID powered spotlights.   You can learn more at www.magnalight.com or 1-800-369-6671.

Magnalight Introduces Stainless Steel Hazardous Location Lights for Corrosive and Salt Water Areas

Larson Electronics Magnalight introduced the HALSS-48-2L stainless steel hazardous location light. Carrying a UL 844 Class 1 Division 2 rating for Groups A, B, C and D and a UL 595 rating for wet area outdoor and saltwater use, the 4 foot, 2 lamp fluorescent light is designed for high vibration, corrosive environments.  said Rob Bresnahan, President of Magnalight.com.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) June 4, 2009 -- The stainless steel housing, neoprene gasket and high impact acrylic lens in the stainless steel hazardous location light are appropriate features for distillate plants, off shore drilling rigs, chemical preparation areas, wash down areas, etc. This Class 1 Division 2 light also meets US Coast Guard specifications, so it can be used on marine loading docks, ship yards and ocean going boats.

The HALSS-4-2L is a heavier duty, stainless steel housing alternative to our HALP-4-2L, which is a lighter duty hazardous location light with a fiberglass housing," said Rob Bresnahan, President of Magnalight.com. "Both are designed to accommodate corrosive environments , like saltwater, that would corrode our aluminum casting based explosion proof lights, like the EPL-48-2L. The lighter weight, lower cost HALP-48-2L model is ideal for lighter duty, structured environments, while our heavier duty HALSS-48-2L is designed for more rugged, vibratory off shore applications. Although every model is certified to UL 844 and UL 595 standards, in comparison, based on weight, the EPL-48-2L is a 65 pound aluminum casting based fixture, the HAL-48-2L is a 28 pound aluminum extrusion light, the HALP-48-2L is a 8 pound fiberglass housed light and the HALSS-48-2L is a 35 pound stainless steel housing light. The EPL series is Class 1 Division 1 and 2 and Class II Division 1 and 2, while the HAL models are Class 1 Division 2 only. While the EPL series is popular with on shore oil rigs, and paint spray booth lighting applications, the HAL series is used for general area lighting in hazardous location areas. The HALP and HALSS models are used for general area lighting in hazardous areas that are also considered corrosive due to the presence of saltwater or chemicals that degrade aluminum or steel," Rob added.

"For customers looking to move away from fluorescent tubes, either for energy savings, lamp longevity or mercury free implementations, we now offer 20 Watt LED bulbs as an optional upgrade for all of our explosion proof and hazardous location fluorescent lights. These LED tubes use the new Samsung AC LED's, which represent a much higher level of quality and output. Encapsulated in an aluminum housing and shrouded in a polycarbonate diffuser, we designed these LED bulbs to deliver on the 50,000 life hour promise. Changing bulbs in an explosion proof of hazardous location light fixture is considerably more time consuming that changing a bulb in a normal fluorescent fixture. As such, the time commitment and associated expense of lifts, man hours, etc. translate into real savings when compared to the cost of these LED's. Changing bulbs only a 1/3rd of the time as compared to fluorescent easily covers the higher cost of the LED bulbs. For LED'S certified buildings and companies penalized for exceeding threshold levels with energy costs, these LED fluorescent bulb replacements can reduce electricity costs by up to half, depending on the current bulb selection," concluded Rob.

Larson Electronics' Magnalight continues to add to their line of explosion proof and hazardous location lighting, ranging from high voltage hazardous location flood lighting to low voltage explosion proof inline drop lights. Serving customers in the petrochemical, oil field and manufacturing arena, Magnalight continues to develop a "one stop shop" offering that includes lighting, explosion extension cords and explosion proof ventilation blowers for explosion proof and hazardous location areas. 06/05/09 CYBERLUX DEBT 180 DAYS PAST DUE ISSUES $15,000 OF BAD CHECKS IN ATTEMPT TO DEFRAUD LARSON ELECTRONICS MAGNALIGHT

Larson Electronics Magnalight announced that Cyberlux Corporation, (OTC Bulletin Board: CYBLE), a company that sells LED lighting products is more than 180 days past due on  $15,465.52 for Ultralife Battery Chargers (CH0004) that they purchased from Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com in October, Novermber and December of 2008 and resold to US National Guard.  A previous batch checks, dated February and March and deposited in late May recently included check 4865 ($1000), 4866 ($1000) and check 1465 ($1465.52).  On 6/15/2009, checks 4868 ($2000), 4869 ($2000), 4871 ($2000), 4872 ($2000) and 4873 ($2000)  were also returned from the bank.  Those checks were sent the Larson Electronics in January 2009 and were post dated in March and April.  None of the checks had supporting funds and all were returned.  Larson Electronics has filed criminal charges with the Durham District Attorney under their "worthless check program."

Jeanette Lord and Michael Porter, with Cyberlux placed orders on 10/3/2008, 10/8/2008, 11/3/008 and 12/11/2008.  UPS tracking numbers associated with the shipments include:

1Z738A6Y0157620800

1Z738A6Y0157417370
1Z738A6Y0255780916
1Z738A6Y0257915124
1Z738A6Y0256450477
1Z738A6Y0255400273

"In short, they ordered, received and sold the product, but now they don't want to pay for it.  When they were 60 days past due they issued a stack of post dated checks, to be cashed at weekly intervals," stated Rob Bresnahan, President of Larson Electronics.   Then they would send emails each week asking us not to cash the checks.  When the checks dated for February, March and April were finally deposited in May and June, they continue to come back NSF.  Jeanette Lord at Cyberlux repeatedly indicated that replacements will be sent out, but we haven't seen them in over a month now."

In this economy, everyone has customers that are struggling to pay.  These are legitimate businesses and we are able to work out a program with them and they pay.  Cyberlux doesn't fall into that category.  This is fraud, plain and simple. We have overhauled our credit policies as result of this, but this message is really for their potential customers.  Based on their K1, I can see we are not only company looking to collect on debt.  It also appears that they are involved in other litigation for fraudulent activities.  So there is a pattern here.  Customer's need to choose vendors of LED lighting that have longevity and can support and upgrade the products they invest in.

Mark Schmidt, CEO at Cyberlux, stated back on 1/19/09  'We do expect our cash flow to restart this week which will allow us to retire the oldest 11/19 invoice this week and the 12/01 invoice next week.  The balance should be cleaned up by the first week in February, if not sooner.'

Richard Brown, who is responsible for finance and investor relations, called the following day to retract the CEO's statements and offered to pay us off in a schedule that stretched out for a year.  I indicated that we were not a financing operation.  Eventually, he put together a schedule that ended in May.  Ultimately, Cyberlux sent us more than $15,000 of post dated NSF checks."

The Seattle Times reported that Cyberlux has the resources to chase earmarks and host fundraising dinners for Senator Elizabeth Dole and Representative David Price, but our recent attempts to get paid resulted in a Cyberlux response of, 'Please do not deposit any checks as they will be returned for insufficient funds.'  The link below, however, shows the contribution commitment from Cyberlux management and board members exceeding $10,000.  An October 2008 issue of the Seattle Times reported, "Cyberlux hosted separate fundraisers in the spring for Rep. David Price, D-N.C., and Sen. Elizabeth Dole, R-N.C., and even posted solicitations on its company Web site, asking people to donate $500 to the lawmakers. The events raised $10,600 for the two.  (Lawyers with expertise in campaign-finance laws say it's illegal for a company to assist in raising campaign donations from the public.)"

http://community.seattletimes.nwsource.com/favorfactory/favorfactory_2008/beneficiary.php?id=114353845

Rob continued, "They have choosen to chase earmarks.  They could have used that to pay off most of their debt to us."

Rob explained, "Sources associated with facilitating the sales of their LED light products to the military indicated that they had to come out of pocket to provide replacements to those military customers, given that the customers were underwhelmed by the product's performance for the price tag.  In order to preserve their reputation with their military customers, they had to provide alternatives for free that were more in line with the customer's expectations.  LED technology has come a long way in the last few years, both in price and performance.  They are selling a 20 watt LED light on a tripod for more than $10,000 each.  We sell the WALTP-L2X4, a 24 watt model with a heavy duty tripod for about $500.  We have models with 180 watts of LEDs on a collapsible, extendable tripod with wheels for under $3000.  And were not the only ones.  There are plenty of companies out there with solid end product for all types of applications.  LED technology is changing monthly.  Companies like Cree, Edison, Seoul, etc. are the real players with real manufacturing capabilities, making real advancements in LEDs and drivers weekly.  Companies like Larson Electronics Magnalight embed those new advancements into fixtures that meet the needs of industrial customers and consumers."

"Potential Cyberlux vendors and customers should be aware of how these folks operate," Rob concluded.  "Mark Schmidt, Jeanette Lord and Richard Brown had a well rehearsed, polished approach to dodging our collection efforts.  Initially, they did a few credit purchases with us to win confidence and then put in their purchase orders.  We let our gaurd down, because we had their card on file.  Once we realized there was a problem, we discovered that card was cancelled.  We have since dramatically overhauled our credit policies.  I see from their 2008 K1 that there is at least one other vendor suing them for collections, so Cyberlux's customers need to determine how well they will be supported long term."

Magnalight Introduces LED T Series Bulbs for Explosion Proof Fluorescent Lights
Larson Electronics Magnalight announced the addition of T5, T8 and T12 LED bulbs for their explosion proof and hazardous location fluorescent type lights. The 24 watt LED fluorescent replacement tubes produce 2200 lumens and last 50,000 hours.  We primarily designed these Led T series bulbs for our explosion proof and hazardous location fluorescent lights, including the EPL-48-2L and HAL-48-2L

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) May 12, 2009 -- The pin configuration on the T-series 24 watt LED bulbs are compatible with all fluorescent light fixtures. These LED bulbs can be installed directly in fluorescent lights with magnetic ballasts for older retrofits, but require bypassing the ballast in the newer fixtures with electronic ballasts. The LEDT-24W bulbs are 4 foot alternatives to the standard T8, T12 and T5 fluorescent lamps and require power at one end only, simplifying the installation. These proprietary LED bulbs are approximately 15% brighter than 32 watt T8 bulbs when measured with an Extech light meter at 2 feet from the fixture.

"We primarily designed these Led T series bulbs for our explosion proof and hazardous location fluorescent lights, including the EPL-48-2L and HAL-48-2L," explained Rob Bresnahan, President of Larson Electronics. "We needed an extremely durable lamp that would perform comparably to the high output bulbs we typically use while producing less heat. These bulbs are made with Samsung LED's that are fully potted in an aluminum housing and protected with a polycarbonate lens. As such, these fixtures are durable, produce minimal heat and have operating lives rated at 50,000 hours. Explosion proof lights, paint spray booth lights and hazardous location lights are typically more difficult to re-lamp due to their sealed design. These LED bulbs offer durability and longevity, while reducing the need to re-lamp as often. Even the T5 lamps are only rated at 25,000 hours. From a price comparison standpoint, 2 LED T-series bulbs are significantly more expensive than comparable T5, T8 or T12 bulbs. However, the lower current draw and re-lamping costs may make up for that cost depending on the environment. Facilities need considered the costs associated with man-hours and equipment, including lifts, ladders, etc. involved in re-lamping fluorescent fixtures to get a better understanding of the true cost of ownership. On the electric demand side, we typically ship our explosion proof paint spray booth certified fixtures like the EPL-48-2L with T12HO or T5HO fixtures. That means 120 watts per fixture. Using these LEDT-24W fixtures creates a total of 48 watts, which can lower the kilowatt/hour usage by more than half which could be useful for facilities faced with electric utility threshold usage costs.

"Other benefits include the ability to use these bulbs in older magnetic ballast driven fixtures without changing the ballast or the fixture, which translates to significant replacement cost savings for facilities laden with older magnetic type fluorescent lights. On units with electronic ballasts, users will bypass the ballast, which translates into savings associated with replacing ballasts, which is more time consuming than re-lamping. "

Rob continued, "Operators can use these bulbs in any fluorescent fixture that takes T5, T8 and T12 bulbs ranging for 120 volts to 277 volts. We are even working on 24 volts AC models for the newer standards for rig lights. Our LEDT-24W LED bulbs carry a 2 year warranty and are available as an upgrade for any of our explosion proof fluorescent lights, paint spray booth lights and hazardous location lights. We also sell these bulbs by the pair on Magnalight.com."

Rob concluded, "Larson Electronics Magnalight is not new to the LED market, having made and sold a wide variety of high powered lighting solutions for handheld (HL-85-10W), vehicle mount (LED10W-6R) and boat (LEDLB-24B) applications for several years. Our tripod mount WALTP-L2X4 combines our low voltage LED emitters with a stout tripod for portable scene lighting and first responder portable tower lighting. Our LEDLB-24VIR is a combination visible and infrared emitter that is used on the MRAP military vehicles in Iraq and Afghanistan. Our LEDLB-20 visible and infrared emitters are installed on military HMMVW all around the world to auxiliary road lighting, IED identification, etc. We have a wealth of the experience with LED lighting and how to make and deliver durable, high output LED lights that survive under the worst conditions. These LEDT-24W incorporate that knowledge, testing and field experience."

Rob explained further, "All organizations need to carefully consider their choice of vendors. Developing, selling and supporting LED lighting requires deep knowledge and a fairly wide range of experience. Larson Electronics Magnalight has built and shipped thousands of LED lights for a wide range of applications. Customers considering LED lighting need to evaluate the history and future of their lighting provider. Larson Electronics has been solely focused on the lighting business for 40 years and continues to develop new solutions for our growing customer base."

Magnalight.com Adds Telescoping LED Lights to Portable Light Tower Product Range
Larson Electronics Magnalight announced the addition of an industrial grade, telescoping LED light on a collapsible tripod. As a LED light, the WALTP-L2X4 addition represents the lightest weight and most portable member of a portable lighting tower family that encompasses 2000 Watt Metal Halide towers (WAL-C-2XM), 140 watt Class 1 Division 1 hazardous location metal halide wheeled towers (EPL-TP-2X70) and 4 headed, 500 watt quartz light, tripod mount lighting (WAL-QP-4X500-25).

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) May 5, 2009 -- Larson Electronics Magnalight announced the addition of an industrial grade, telescoping LED light on a collapsible tripod. As a LED light, the WALTP-L2X4 addition represents the lightest weight and most portable member of a portable lighting tower family that encompasses 2000 Watt Metal Halide towers (WAL-C-2XM), 140 watt Class 1 Division 1 hazardous location metal halide wheeled towers (EPL-TP-2X70) and 4 headed, 500 watt quartz light, tripod mount lighting (WAL-QP-4X500-25).

"Generally, our customers need a substantial amount of light for working at night or illuminating fuel tanks, security checkpoints or event areas. Combined with our portable electrical distribution panels and hazardous area transformers, we can cover hundreds or thousands of square feet. But many of our customers are also looking for a lightweight, portable solution that can cover a few hundred square feet for shorter term work applications. The WALTP-L2X4 LED telescoping tripod light weighs less than 8 pounds and collapses to less than 3 feet. This LED light telescopes to 8 feet and can be plugged into to any 'jump start" portable battery pack, vehicle cigarette plug or connected to any available car/tractor battery. Drawing just 2 amps, this LED light tower will run about 9 hours on any $50 'jump start' battery pack you would find at the local Walmart or auto parts store. A typical car battery would run these tripod mount LED lights for 25 or more hours."

Rob explained further, "Priced under $500, this is an affordable, durable telescoping LED light tower can be stored in any size vehicle, and easily set up at the temporary worksite or event area. While a 1000 watt metal halide light will cover more area, typically the light must placed a distance from the worksite, closer to a generator. This LED light tower can be placed right in the middle of the worksite or event, without concern for generator noise, fumes or high voltage wiring. Each light tower has its place. The telescoping LED light is ideal for the first responders on the job at a downed line, broken main or accident. It might take several hours for generator driven 1000W metal halide light towers to reach the scene. Meanwhile work can begin. For one or two man jobs, this worksite LED light tower is sufficient. We offer a range of LED light heads for this telescoping tripod mount, all the way up to 9600 lumens of light output, which can be configured in a spot or flood pattern, depending on the application.

Rob explained, "Larson Electronics LLC has been manufacturing lights for the utility, industrial and military markets since 1967. We started selling LED lights in 2005 and we continue to build on our experience in vehicle mount LED lighting, LED boat lights, military spotlights, handheld explosion proof LED lights and magnetic mount LED lights. Now we are equipping our explosion proof lights with LED bulbs and our portable light towers with LED light fixtures. We have a deep utility, military and industrial customer base and we integrate new technology, like LED bulbs and fixtures into our existing product lines to meet new needs of those customers."

Rob continued, "All organizations need to carefully consider their choice of vendors. Companies like Cyberlux (CYBLE) for example, are relatively new to the lighting business and while they have jumped on the LED bandwagon, customers need to consider whether Cyberlux will survive to support them long term. Cyberlux is more than 150 days past due on $15,465.52 for components that they purchased from Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com and resold to US National Guard. The Seattle Times reported that Cyberlux has the resources to chase earmarks and host fundraising dinners for Senator Elizabeth Dole and Representative David Price, but our recent attempts to get paid resulted in a Cyberlux response of, 'Please do not deposit any checks as they will be returned for insufficient funds.' There are a lot of new developments in the LED marketplace and organizations need to work with lighting providers that understand their needs and will support them in the future as the technology continues to change. Larson Electronics Magnalight has been doing that for the last 40 years and will continue to do so into the future."

Magnalight.com Offers Explosion Proof Paint Spray Booth Lights With LED Bulbs
Larson Electronics LLC announced that its popular explosion proof paint spray booth lights will accommodate specially made LED lamps. This is an ongoing effort for not only a safer work environment, but a "greener" one.  Explosion proof lights are larger, heavier and have more seals and fasteners than general area lighting
Our LED lamps produce approximately the same light output as high output 60 watt fluorescent lamps. Also, the color is closer to a
we make a fairly wide range of LED lighting for all kinds of military, vehicle, boating and industrial applications.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) April 28, 2009 -- LED replacement lamps for fluorescent hazardous location lights offer several advantages to the operator, including reduced electricity usage, elimination of replacement ballasts and longer lifespan. Longer life LED bulbs are a big part of President Obama's "green" initiatives in the government sector, because they draw less electricity and reduce landfill waste. In the hazardous location lighting marketplace, benefits include reducing the risk and time associated with changing lamps in lighting fixtures with additional seals.

"Explosion proof lights are larger, heavier and have more seals and fasteners than general area lighting," explained Rob Bresnahan, President of Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com. "When a bulb goes out, operators must take more time and care in replacing those lamps. Improper replacement of seals and fasteners can void the hazardous location rating. Longer life LED lamps reduce the frequency of changing these lamps, lowering the risk and cost associated with maintenance and repair operations, which can make them much better lights for spray paint booths. Our LED lamps don't require ballasts, so we completely eliminate the need for replacing ballasts in our fixtures as well, which is a much more time consuming endeavor. There is also a reduction in safety risks, since the operators must typically use ladders and lifts to reach ceiling mounted explosion proof lights. Changing the bulbs less often reduces these safety risks as well."

"Our LED lamps produce approximately the same light output as high output 60 watt fluorescent lamps. Also, the color is closer to a "daylight" output typical with higher rendition lights and Kelvin ratings above 5000. As such, operators won't have to sacrifice luminosity for this change. They will, however, face higher costs. Well constructed lamps are more costly than conventional fluorescent lamps. For our popular explosion proof paint spray booth light models, like the EPL-48-2L (4 foot 2 lamp) and the EPL-24-2L (2 foot 2 lamp), adding LED bulbs will add about $240 to the cost of each fixture. In fact, this cost will be applicable to our hazardous location fixtures, like the HAL-48-2L and the HAL-24-2L, which will also accommodate the LED lamp upgrades. All of our explosion proof fluorescents lights are and will be upgradeable to our LED lamps. Operators can purchase our standard models, equipped with fluorescent bulbs now and change over to our LED bulbs at any time. New paint spray booth lights equipped with LED bulbs will not include a ballast, so they will not be backwards compatible with fluorescent bulbs."

Rob continued, "we make a fairly wide range of LED lighting for all kinds of military, vehicle, boating and industrial applications." As such, we have learned from these experiences and produce a LED bulb replacement for fluorescent lights that will have the same durability, longevity and quality of our other LED lights."

Larson Electronics LLC offers a wide variety of LED lights for vehicles, boats and industrial applications and a wide range of surface mount and portable explosion proof lighting. You can learn more about Larson Electronics LLC at magnalight.com or by calling 1-800-369-6671.

Magnalight.com Adds Rechargeable Class 1 Division 2 Hazardous Location Lighting
Hazardous location lights are important for safe work environments in which traditional lighting might become unstable and dangerous. Magnalight.com has been leading the way in explosion proof lights for years, and continues to provide a crucial supply of these lights to businesses, the military and anyone in need of such technology.

Houston, TX (PRWEB) March 24, 2009 -- Larson Electronics LLC announced several additions to its line of hazardous location lighting, including cordless lights, surface mount fluorescent lights and flood lights on wheeled tripods. Hazardous location lighting is typically defined by Class and Division ratings. Class 1 Division 1 lights are considered explosion proof, while the Class 1 Division II lights are used in open air areas adjacent to the explosion proof rated areas, where the presence of flammable vapors and/or dusts are present occasionally.

Rob Bresnahan, President of Magnalight.com explained, "The new cordless lights include the new Class 1 Division 2 RUL-9 rechargeable handheld lantern style light with 5 hour run time lithium ion battery and the Class 1 Division 1 EXPRL-95 wand style rechargeable LED flashlight with up to 18 hours run time. The EXP-LED-F4W explosion proof LED flashlight is powered by 3 AA batteries and runs more than 100 hours while delivering a beam that reaches 225 feet."

Rob continued, "The new surface mount Class 1 Division 2 lights include 2 versions of a surface mount fluorescent light, include the wet area, corrosion resistant HALP-48-2L (4 foot) and the heavy duty aluminum extrusion based HAL-48-2L (4 foot) and the HAL-24-2L (2 foot) fluorescent light fixtures. These hazardous location lights are equipped with electronic ballasts and can be configured with a T12HO, T8 or T5HO bulbs. These Class 1 Division 2 rated lights are part of the same family as our popular EPL-48-2L explosion proof lights that are rated for paint spray booth operation.

Finally, we now offer either one or two 400 watt metal halide fixtures on a wheeled tripod. These Class 1 Division II lights are also UL rated for wet area applications. The provide wide area flood light in an easy to position format. The HAL-C-2X4 produces 150,000 lumens and covers 13,000 square feet. These fixtures are designed for dry are and wet area locations like shipyards, docks and wash areas."

Magnalight Adds Portable Flood Lights for Hazardous Location Areas and General Work Site Lighting
Work safety should always be an issue, and under certain circumstances, even ordinary lighting can be hazardous. Larson Electronics has always offered intrinsically safe lighting for such work environments, and continues to expand their library of explosion proof lights with the addition of portable flood lights.  We continue to add flood light options for customer operating in hazardous location areas and general work areas in military, petrochemical and industrial areas

Houston, TX (PRWEB) March 18, 2009 -- Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com announced several new flood lights for both 12/24 volt DC and 120 volts AC. The explosion proof, Class 1 Division 1 400 watt metal halide EPL-18C-1X4 is an 18 inch diameter flood light on wheels, designed to be used for cleaning tanks in hazardous location areas. The EPL-TP-1X70-100 features a 70 watt metal halide fixture that is rated both for Class 1 Division 1 environments and for wet, saltwater areas. In the portable light tower category, Magnalight.com added the WAL-C-2XM, a double headed 1000 watt metal halide on a cart with wheels, which produces 220,000 lumens for work site lighting. The new WAL-M-500-120 is a magnetically mounted 500 watt flood light is designed to be attached to any steel surface for general work area lighting. Generally, flood lights produce a soft, wide area of illumination for work site lighting, as opposed to spotlights which are a focused beam designed to illuminate targets at a distance.

"We continue to add flood light options for customer operating in hazardous location areas and general work areas in military, petrochemical and industrial areas," said Rob Bresnahan. "As customers come to us with their needs, we continue to develop innovative lighting solutions to meet their needs. For example, our WAL-PM-500-120, which is a pedestal mount work area flood light, helped one customer provide high powered flood lighting in environments where there was no metallic surface to use our magnetic mount flood lights. This has proved useful to other customers as well. We also introduced a 12 volt, 150 watt version WAL-M-150-1224 for other customers who wanted the same magnetic mount flood light powered from their vehicle at the job site."

Rob continued, "For operators in hazardous location areas, we added an 18 inch diameter, 400 watt metal halide flood light which can inserted into any size man hole in tanks and vessels. As an alternative to explosion proof string lights, a single 400 watt metal halide, Class 1 Division 1 flood light can illuminate even the largest tanks from a single light source. It is smaller than our 24 inch model, making it universal to all tanks, regardless of age. Also, we now offer a 70 watt metal halide flood light in both pedestal mount (EPL-BS-70-100) and tripod mount (EPL-TP-1X70-100). A 70 watt metal halide flood light produces more light than a 300 watt halogen light. The metal halide light is also more true color than incandescent lights, drawing less current and producing less heat. When a lot people are comparing alternatives, such as our incandescent 300 watt fixture (EPL-PM-1X300-100) to the EPL-70-BS-100, they will find that the 70 watt metal halide outperforms the 300 watt incandescent in both light output and color."

Larson Electronics' Magnalight brand of explosion proof lighting is used in military, petrochemical and industrial settings around the world. You can learn more at magnalight.com or by calling 1-800-369-6671.

Magnalight Adds More Infrared Light Options for Military and Security Applications
Larson Electronics Magnalight announced the addition of more Infrared (IR) light emitters to its existing line of lights suitable for both military and security applications, which are typically used at night and produce little or no visible illumination.  Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com offers a wide range of military field tested IR lights using both filtered visible light and IR LED emitters

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) March 10, 2009 -- Infrared light is typically measured in nanometers. Common ranges include 730nm, 850nm and 940nm. The higher the wavelength, the less likely there is any visible light produced. Certain types of cameras and night vision equipment must be used to enhance the human eyes' ability to see with IR light. IR lights are commonly used with security cameras, which are typically tuned to capture images using IR light. However, the military continues to be the largest consumer of IR lights, in order to gain an advantage over adversaries who are not equipped with night vision gear. In effect, soldiers equipped with the IR lights and night vision equipment can easily see as well as they can during daylight hours. At the same time, the soldiers operate in stealth mode, since the enemy sees no visible light emissions. Finally, a growing number of varmint hunters are using IR lighting and night vision equipment to identify targets. IR lights are generally produced via filtering visible light or LED emitters tuned to produce only the desired wavelengths of light.

"Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com offers a wide range of military field tested IR lights using both filtered visible light and IR LED emitters," stated Rob Bresnahan, President of Larson Electronics. Our 1870-M-IR850 features a 35 watt High Intensity Discharge (HID) light source filtered by a coated borosilicate cover that produces 850nm light. This light is widely deployed in Iraq. We now offer an upgraded HID-65-50-S-IRC, which is a 50 watt HID spotlight with a snap on filter cover that enables to soldiers to use the light in visible mode or in covert infrared mode. We recently added a 940nm lens option to our HLC-IR HMMWV headlight cover, which is designed to fit over the headlights on the AM General military Humvees. So we have added several new options for filtered visible lights. We even released the HML-5M-IR-850 filter cover for our HML-5M magnetic handheld spotlight, which is part of the Escalation of Force Kit issued to every deployed soldier."

Rob continued, "However, we made some significant advances in IR LED emitters, both in form and functions. Our LEDLB-24-VIR lights feature both visible and IR LEDS in the same light fixture. Separate power leads enable MRAP builders and operators to tie the visible LEDs to the black out system while leaving ongoing power to the IR LEDs. We offer this IR LED light with either 850nm or 940nm wavelength options and the light only draws 3 amps on 24 volts DC while covering an area 900 feet in length. Our LEDLB-4-IR is a small form factor LED Infrared light emitter that covers an area 90 feet long by 90 feet wide, while drawing only .5 amps on 24 volts. This light is being used as IR grill lights on larger convoy vehicles as well as military style ATVs due its small size, IP 67 watertight rating and durability. We just released our smallest IR emitter, measuring 2 inches by 2 inches by 2.5 inches, it is ideal IR trailing light for convoy type vehicles. The LEDLB-1-IR features a single 3 watt IR LED and is offered in 850nm and 940nm and draws only a ¼ amp on 12 volts and 1/8 amp on 24 volts."

"For vehicle to vehicle portability, we have both IR and visible LED emitter lights with magnetic bases that can be plugged into a typical cigarette plug socket. The LEDLB-12-M-IR is a magnetically mounted, 36 watt IR LED light that produces a beam that covers an area 450 long and 125 feet wide. The amp draw with this IR LED light is 1.5 amps on 24 volts. On the visible side, the MRAPs operators are deploying our LED10W-6R which is a 60 watt LED light that reaches 1200 feet while drawing 2.5 amps on 24 volts. All of our LED lights operate on 9 to 32 volts DC, which makes them applicable to all types of vehicle systems, boats and deep cycle batteries. At this point, every branch of the US military is using our visible LED lights and/or our IR LED light emitters on some type of vehicle or boat. The feedback has been excellent. I think there is still an impression out there that LED lights produce very little power and distance. However, the industry and Larson Electronics have made significant improvements in LED technology. The LED lights in the past did little more than glow to a distance of 15 feet. Now, we have small form factor LED lights that easily reach 1500 feet with either visible light or IR light, while still taking advantage of the ultra-low amp draw consistent with LED technology," Rob concluded.

Larson Electronics has a wide array of LED lights for vehicles, boats and industrial applications. Magnalight.com Unveils Corrosion Resistant Hazardous Location Fluorescent Lights
Safety in the workplace should be priority number one, and with the unveiling of several fluorescent lights that are especially resistant to conditions which normally cause damage to other kinds of lights, Magnalight.com proves to be a valuable asset to the safe workplace.  Fluorescent lights are a mainstay in just about every facility in the world

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) March 3, 2009 -- Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com announced a new addition to its growing line of explosion proof and hazardous location fluorescent lighting products. The newest surface mount light, the HALP-48-2L was released last week and offers UL 595 outdoor marine certifications in addition to the UL 844 Class 1 Division II ratings for Groups A, B, C and D. The hazardous location light is the first significant departure from the use of aluminum castings and aluminum extrusions common in the heavier duty, Class 1 Division 1 fluorescent lights, like the EPL-48-2L and the HAL-48-2L.

"Fluorescent lights are a mainstay in just about every facility in the world," stated Rob Bresnahan, President of Magnalight.com. "Now, we cover most every aspect of hazardous location area lighting, starting with our Class 1 Division 1 EPL-48-2L explosion proof light, which is ideal for petrochemical, manufacturing and paint spray booth applications. That explosion proof fluorescent light is made with an aluminum casting, which makes it very heavy duty and meets the specifications necessary to reach the highest UL safety ratings. For areas that experience the presence of flammable vapors occasionally, or are adjacent to Class 1 Division 1 rated areas, we offer the lighter weight, HAL-48-2L hazardous location fluorescent light. This hazardous location area rated fixture's housing is made with an aluminum extrusion, making it lighter weight for easier installation. However, both fixtures are made from aluminum, which can be degraded by corrosive substances, such as saltwater. As such, the HALP-48-2L fills that gap in our line. Our newest Class 1 Division 2 rated light is made from a glass fiber reinforced polyester housing, an acrylic diffuser cover and stainless steel fasteners. Thus, it is ideal for shipyards, marine loading docks, vessels and other wet location areas that require corrosion resistant lighting that is also UL rated for hazardous location use. The HALP-48-2L also meets US Coast Guard specifications."

Larson Electronics LLC continues to expand its line of explosion proof fluorescent lights, ranging from Class 1 Division 1 rated handheld drop lights to surface mount explosion proof paint spray booth lights. This intrinsically safe flashlight is Zone Zero rated and incorporates all the worldwide safety ratings for both flammable vapors and explosive dusts. With no bulb to break, polycarbonate lens and nylon body, this light is applicable to all environments, including food safe applications, such as flour or sugar dust. A lot of people still think of LEDs as a very weak flood light, but the technology has really leaped forward in the last 12 months. Operators will be impressed with the bright, spot beam this light provides. At a price point below $50, this ultra-durable light is ideal for tank and vessel inspection."

RUL-9
"Many operators prefer http://www.magnalight.com/pc-1844-154-explosion-proof-led-flashlight--rechargeable-led-flashlight-and-floodlight.aspx[rechargeable explosion proof lights, to eliminate the need to stock batteries," Rob continued. "We offer several options that offer portability, durability and rechargeable lithium ion batteries. Unlike previous battery technologies, lithium ion batteries offer high capacities with no memory issues. Operators can recharge the batteries as little of as much as they like. Smart charging technology eliminates overcharging. Our RUL-9 is a popular Class 1 Division II light that operates for 5 hours on a single charge. Ideal for areas that experience the intermittent presence of hazardous petrochemical vapors or dusts, these vapor proof, hazardous location lights are lightweight and have articulating heads. The RUL-9 Tactical Spot Light is popular with pipeline inspection. For inspecting larger tanks, we offer the ATX-20-S, which integrated High Intensity Discharge (HID) into a Class 1 Division rated flashlight for Groups A, B, C and D. There are very few lights that cover Group B, but this explosion proof flashlight emits a 1500 foot long white beam and last 90 minutes on a single charge of its potted lithium ion battery.

For environmental companies that require ultra long battery life as well as the versatility to inspect surfaces at distance as well provide work area flood lighting, the EXPRL-95 offers 9-18 hour battery life, with UL safety ratings ranging across Class 1, Class II and Class III, this versatile, LED driven light is popular with aerospace applications and post paint spray booth inspection. For operators already integrating ceiling surface mount explosion proof fluorescent lighting, like our EPL-48-2L or EPL-48-4L, into their paint spray booth, the EXPRL-95 make idea post paint spray inspection lights for the underside of fuselages, etc. where all the 'nooks and crannies' are shielded from the overhead fluorescents."

LED lighting is ideal for the smallest of our explosion proof lighting line, including the Class 1 Division 1 pen lights (EPL-LED-PL1) and snake lights (EXP-LED-SL-10). Both are powered by LED technology and take alkaline batteries. They are ideal for minimum distance inspection work, etc.

Generally, these smaller, lightweight battery driven explosion proof and hazardous location lights augment are larger EPL-24C-1X4 or EPL-18C-1X4 400 watt, Class 1 Division 1 tank light. Typically, operators will set up the larger, heavier lights to encompass the work area and then use smaller portable LED driven lights for inspection," concluded Rob. "By adding smaller form factor hazardous location lighting to our larger Class 1 Division 1 flood lights we look to become a sole source for all safety rated lighting needs of our manufacturing, environmental and petrochemical customers."

Magnalight.com Adds Marine LED Lights and HID Remote Control Lights for Boats

Combining low amp draw, watertight design, bright white light output and attractive and functional form factors, the Magnalight line of LED emitter lights and HID remote control searchlights create new options for boats of all sizes, when it comes to boat spotlights.
As boaters prepare their vessels for the water this season, Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com announced an extensive range of spotlights, deck lights and flood lights for all types of boats.  LED lights are known for their low amp draw and durability, but now we have combined these benefits with new patent pending technology that gives them the powerful light output that boaters require
For greater range and true searchlight capabilities, we now offer High Intensity Discharge (HID) arc lamp technology in the Golight remote control lights

"LED lights are known for their low amp draw and durability, but now we have combined these benefits with new patent pending technology that gives them the powerful light output that boaters require," said Rob Bresnahan, President of Magnalight.com. "Our LED10W-6R is a powerful 60 watt LED light fixture that operates on 9-32 volts, is IP68 rated and generates 4800 lumens, which creates a beam 1200 feet long and 75 feet wide. To date, there are not many affordable, compact, high powered LED lights that can deliver this kind of power. Our LEDLB-4 is an ideal spreader light, covering an area 80 feet wide and 80 feet long with 12 watts of LEDs, drawing only 1 amp on 12 volts. We have underwater rated LED lights, including the LED-UL-4, that can be mounted to the outside of the boat with 3 screws, eliminating the need for halogen type, through hull mounted lights. For even wider flood lighting patterns, we offer LED light emitter low profile lights, like the LEDLB-40 and LEDLB-80, which span to 5 foot in length, but are only 2.75 inches tall and 2.75 inches deep. These are ideal for applications where space is tight and lighting need not interfere with other mounted equipment, like radar domes. We offer all of our LED lights in white and black to more closely align with boaters needs for aesthetic requirements," concluded Rob.

"For greater range and true searchlight capabilities, we now offer High Intensity Discharge (HID) arc lamp technology in the Golight remote control lights," Rob continued. Typically, the Golight spotlights operate with a 65 watt halogen bulb, which produces a beam that is effective to 850 feet and has distinct yellow color. We upgrade the Golight Stryker spotlights with a 35 watt HID ballast and bulb. We also integrate wireless radio technology used at NASCAR races to improve the range of the wireless remote controllers to distances of 300 feet. Our GL-3067H (white) and GL-3049H (black) and GL-3066H (chrome) are wireless high intensity discharge golight searchlights suitable for fresh water and saltwater and offer beam lengths exceeding 3000 feet. The GL-3020H, GL-3021H and GL-3026H offer the same power with wired controllers. The beam is white, bright and true color, enabling boaters to navigate tricky waterways more effectively. There are other HID powered searchlights out there, but none of them offer this much power in a compact, lightweight, durable form factor at this low price point. We offer the large brass searchlights with HID power, like our HID-35-RC models as well, but the HID Golight spotlights offer similar power at a lower price point, which enables boaters to see farther for a lower cost."

Magnalight.com Expands Range of High Power LED Lights For Vehicle, Military and Security Applications

In an ongoing effort to meet the needs of their industrial, military and security oriented customer base around the world, Larson Electronics’ Magnalight.com introduced several new LED light formats to its range of high powered emitters.

Magnalight.com, a supplier of industrial, military, and security oriented lighting products, is introducing several new LED light formats to its product line. Included in the new product release was a 4 LED model, measuring only 3.5 inches long, 2.75 inches tall and 2.7 inches deep. At the opposite end of the range, magnalight.com has an 80 LED light bar that is 40 inches long, 2.75 inches tall and 2.7 inches deep.

“We have had a tremendous response to the LED emitter lights when it comes to repeat sales,” stated Rob Bresnahan, President of Magnalight.com. “Generally, there is skepticism about the amount of the light these bars can produce and project. However, after limited trials, customers return to buy more. Each individual LED is packaged inside of its own reflector. When grouped together, the effect is similar to a wide spot beam, illuminating a large area with even, bright, white light. The 12 LED light models easily light up an area 400 feet long by 400 feet wide, and along with the 8 LED models, these have been popular with the security industry. They work well with all kinds of cameras for surveillance applications. The 40 LED lights and 80 LED lights are popular with military and mining applications, where durability and longevity, supported by our waterproof and shockproof design, are critical. We now offer these LED light emitters in infrared models, including 850 nm and 940 nm, which are ideal for covert night vision applications,” Rob continued. “Our 20 LED models are popular with customers looking to light up signs in a retail environment and the 16 LED and 24 LED light emitters are popular replacements for traditional halogen lights on front loaders, wheel loaders, tractors and other heavy equipment where traditional lighting solutions tend to break regularly. The 4X4 and 4X6 LED arrays concentrate more luminosity in a tighter area which is ideal for construction related applications. NASA is using them on the lunar rovers, the US military is using them to outfit the MRAPs and the Coast Guard is using them because they eliminate the problems with ‘casting’ on the open water, since the light produced in not reflective.”

“In fact,” Rob announced, “we have a pending ATEX rating on the LED lights for use in hazardous location areas and we are submitting it to UL for an explosion proof, Class 1 Division 1 rating in United States. Given their lightweight design, waterproof construction and longevity, we think that these LED light emitters offer several advantages in the explosion proof lighting marketplace. Given that most metal halide and fluorescent fixtures are very heavy, these LED emitter lights offer lightweight, powerful alternatives to the established choices, especially where portability is required. There could be a big difference in dragging a 125 pound light fixture into a tank for cleaning through a 18 inch manhole and bringing a 20 pound light fixture. More importantly, it is not necessary to relamp these LED lights, so you are not relying on operators to properly re-assemble gaskets and hardware improperly within the fixture, possibly creating a hazardous situation.”

Rob concluded, “generally, I think LED lights have turned the corner. A lot of the initial LED applications, like flashlights and other handheld lights, were weak flood lights at best, covering 15 or 20 feet. Although much more expensive, the newer LED technology offers very powerful light output, while still drawing much less amps and longevity of 100,000 plus hours. People look for our LED light emitters because they are waterproof and draw fewer amps than any other lighting solution. However, they are shocked when they see how much light they put out. That is why OEMs are integrating them into all kinds of mobile equipment, where low amp draw requirements usually relegated their designs to low output halogens. Although significantly more expensive initially, these LED light emitters are a real breakthrough when it comes to total cost of ownership for equipment builders and designers.”

Magnalight.com Adds More High Powered Golight Remote Controlled Spotlights

Larson Electronics’ Magnalight.com announces diversification of its line of High Intensity Discharge (HID) Golight remote controlled light upgrades.

As the name would indicate, the Golight spotlights are controlled via remote controllers, including both hard wired mounted joystick style controllers and wireless handheld and mounted button style models. If the operator depresses the buttons or the joystick, signals are sent to the motors in the Golight, causing it to rotate 360 degrees or tilt over a range of 140 degrees. The operator can also control the power to the light, which enables them to position the light head for activating the beam.

The standard Golight Stryker model offers a 900 foot long beam that presents a wide spot pattern with a width of 135 at that distance. The High Intensity Discharge (HID) Golight upgrade spotlights increase total beam distance of 2,800 feet (930 yards or 9 football fields), and reduce the overall beam width to 90 feet at that distance. The HID Golight Stryker spotlights offer a much brighter, whiter color over the entire beam distance, since the arc lamp burns gas at a 6000 Kelvin color, while the stock 65 watt halogen bulb produces a “yellow/orange” beam at distance. Magnalight.com solidified the HID Golight upgrade in September and is now expanding the range of packages to include more features and mounts. “We offer a wide range of HID fixed mount lights and we have been inundated with customer demand to integrate the power of HID into the Golight,” said Rob Bresnahan, President of Magnalight.com. “We responded with a beam length that is 3 times longer and brighter. In addition we improved the range of the wireless remote controllers to a distance of 290 feet. We actually used the same technology that NASCAR uses in maintaining communication between pit crews and drivers.

“Many operators in the military, utility and construction segments want versatility in their mounting options,” continued Bresnahan. “So we take the surface mount HID Golight Styrker and make it magnetic mount, with a 16 foot cord and cigarette plug. In addition to a wide range of adjustable stanchion and riser mounts sold as accessories, we now integrate the Perko pole mount with red and green running lights with the Golight HID spotlights. The US Coast Guard and the Wildlife Commissions use this type of light when patrolling waterways at night. Most boats have a Perko socket installed at the factory. The Perko pole mounted HID Golight is situated in an established Perko socket and the running lights are automatically activated, while the operator controls the position of the spotlight. Since the Golight HID spotlight is independently controlled, the operator chooses when to turn the light on. While this mount is popular with boaters, a lot of oilfield and construction operators use it as well. So we actually include a Perko socket with the GL-9100 series, so that other types of vehicles can use this feature as well. Often times, vehicles and heavy equipment are left unprotected, so operators want either magnetic, stanchion or pole mount lights that are removable at the end of the work day. They can secure the lights in the tool box.”

These HID Golight remote control spotlights round out a range of remote controlled lighting solutions, including LEDLB series of remote controlled LED emitter lights and the RCL360 series are ultra hardened HID remote controlle
